Middle aged man dressing up in girls school uniform

The middle-aged man was filmed wearing a school blazer, skirt and tights while sitting next to a pink rucksack in the Cotteridge area of Birmingham. #DailyExpress

This is too weird. I don't know if it's an official school uniform. He appears at the end of the school day hanging around smoking. In the old days he'd have been moved along. Surely this can't be acceptable.

Personally I think if you think instinctively that something is wrong then don’t make excuses. This bloke has made a choice to wear this, knowing fine well that it will cause controversy. Some men where what are typically women’s clothes and can look ridiculous, but sometimes you have to draw a line between what is ridiculous and what is just creepy.

Two things for me.
Firstly that picture does not look right, the head looks superimposed and the upper and half body door appear to be of the same person.

So not an image i am willing to trust, or give any credence to.

Secondly, i find it completely bonkers to suggest that we ought to police what people wear. And that we can deal with people based on anticipating a crime they may or may not commit based on what they say or wear.

For sure we need legislation to protect single sex places, and women's rights.

Fruit cakes walk amongst us. But that is a fact of living in a free world.

I do feel that this "I don't care as long as he isn't in single sex places" strikes me as "I don't care if he is in the places I don't use", it's the feminist version of NIMBYism.

The Express report has statements from the public, so a bit more than a debatable video, so possibly true. The video does look a bit AI, but many of these stories are true.

The trans rights movement gained so much traction until it started to directly affect people.

These men use the school buses, stand at bus stops used by pupils, but you don't care because he's not using the women's toilets at John Lewis? All those schoolchildren be damned as long as you don't have to come across him?

Bus wanker.

Potentially literally.

Grim.

why are some people so determined to avoid even the biggest, most obvious of red flags?

InternetPortal · 09/09/2025 13:19

I think a few parents (including dads) need to get together and go to talk to him. Just talk to him - ask him why he is doing this, and then explain very clearly that it is not OK and they will be back and taking action if he repeats the behaviour. Link up groups across the city, if he's popping up in different places. Nothing violent, nothing illegal. Clear community action to let him know people have seen, people are not happy, and there will be consequences if he doesn't back off.

@TheCatsTongue feel free to put words in my mouth that i have not said.

rather an irritating way of expressing you view.

The whole "wear what you want" argument falls down when there's no reason for any adult to be dressing up like a schoolgirl.

It's highly unlikely he was on his way to a party before that gets trotted out

Wear what you want comes with the caveat that if what you want to wear is weird, unusual or socially unacceptable then other people will judge you and make assumptions about your motivation for wearing it.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 09/09/2025 13:39

I don't see what the problem is... he is just a little girl trapped in a mans body storing up mental images of other little girls for his wank bank... all fine and normal until the mental images aren't enough!
BE KIND.

Catpiece · 09/09/2025 13:47

Smoking eh? He’s more likely to be arrested for that. God help us from what’s happening to this country.

Startyabastard · 09/09/2025 13:53

Poppingby · 08/09/2025 22:00

He hasn't done anything wrong. Why is the whole country talking about a nutter at a bus stop like he is the first one ever? He is literally sitting at a bus stop in a skirt, that's it.

Just a skirt? Not a children's school uniform, would that be? Nice minimisation of an issue!

My point.

My rule of thumb is, if society thinks my straight middle aged husband shouldn't be doing it, then neither should another grown man however he identifies.

That's a good rule of thumb, I think I might adopt it as well. Thank you 😊

RayonSunrise · 09/09/2025 15:41

Twenty years ago I probably would have fallen for the “He’s not doing anything wrong, it’s just clothes,” argument. But the problem is I’ve learned quite a bit since those days, including:

Clothes be read by others as having meaning. We tell people going to job interviews to dress more smartly than they normally would, to give a good impression.

Clothes can signal your membership of a group. Any ex-Goth knows that Not Looking Like A Normal Person was 100% of the point. We didn’t fall into a pile of black clothes by accident.

Deliberately using clothes to stand out compared to everyone else is a choice. You have to be able to deal with the fact that you are asking for attention and getting it. Whining that people noticed you standing out is lame.

A grown man choosing to wear school girl clothes and hanging around where school children go is not making a neutral choice. It is nothing like a man wearing a silky, dandy-like blouse under a jacket or a smidge of eyeliner. The choice is to connect himself to younger people, using a very old porn trope.

Choosing to ignore what someone is clearly communicating is not open-minded, it’s naive.

Namitynamename · 09/09/2025 18:20

The problem with these things is context actually does matter.
Bunch of blokes on a stag night/university fancy dress with one of them dressed in school uniform/as Britney Spears. Whatever. I don't like the whole "sexy schoolgirl" thing and I'm glad there is some push back. But it's clearly a joke and you can't easily police what people wear without it getting slide.
Bloke in school uniform outside a primary school. Dodgy as hell and needs some push back even if it's just the police having a word/doing some investigations into background. Or, an ASBO.

I think you need to avoid slippery slopes but it should be possible on these cases to put down some context specific barriers.

SwordOfOmens · 09/09/2025 21:56

I'm arguing with a guy on my fb about this. He says I would benefit from going to a queer awareness workshop. He doesn't think there's anything wrong

GoldenGate · 09/09/2025 22:28

In the video he is very good at keeping his whole body still while he turns his head at one speed or casually lifts his arm with a cig. Maybe he missed his job as a performing statue.

So his position is that queer = perv? He might want to rethink that.

JaquelineHide · 10/09/2025 09:31

He's been photographed again. On a bus this time.

Does he want the P added to the LGB&QT?

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 10/09/2025 13:08

I thought it was Aphex Twin…

There are people who think the P is already included in the Q

Some think that's a good thing - (cough) Tatchell (cough).

Others think it's a very bad thing.

Deleted, wrong thread.

For old times sake……

You are terrorising the most marginal group in our society. Middle aged male school girls need to be protected from your hate. I’m just like all the rest of those people who think absolutely nothing to see here. What is wrong with you???

The oldies are the goodies, aren’t they? Grin

I just wish that the next time someone relatively public says “oh the trans, the most oppressed minority” someone asks just how these entitled men are the most oppressed.

Are an average of 2.3 of them murdered each week?

Are they as a category paid 15% less than their fellow men?

Are they part of the category which makes up over 85% of the victims of sexual violence and assault?

Are they told to “shut the fuck up cunt” or worse when they try to speak about their experiences in public?
