How many “cis” male members of staff do you suppose would approach teenage girls in the lingerie department?

It may not be appropriate, but it doesn’t mean anyone was perving

How is a grown man wanting to see and potentially touch an undressed underaged girl to validate his role play as a woman not perverted in your eyes?
Moreover, him approaching any female of any age in the guise of helping with bra measurements is perverted.
If we imagine our sons/brothers/dads doing this... no me neither. They wouldn't because they're not perverted.

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 05/08/2025 00:02

I live near an M&S on the Surrey/Berkshire border and they have a TIM in their clothing section, have spotted him for around 2-3 years as he really does stand out.
Until recently he was always in the menswear section and I always thought that it was absolutely reasonable of him to work there and had no problems with him.

Last time he was wandering through the bra section and it was all just so creepy and unnecessary.

Startingtocollapse · 05/08/2025 00:13

I’d be spitting feathers if this happened to either of my DDs. Creepy AGP fucker.

Judiezones · 05/08/2025 00:13

I visited a friend in a NW town. Their M&S is not big and the first floor is menswear, children's wear and a largish lingerie dept. One of the assistants was a very obvious biological male dressed as a woman. He was serving on a till one day and on another was restocking displays. I imagine the staff do a bit of everything- till, restock, fitting rooms, so he probably does his turn in the fitting room. The entrance to it is next to the lingerie dept. and there was a sign advertising bra fittings. No thanks.

Sorry but why else would a man want to work in a lingerie department unless its to perv?

Why would M&S even allow it?

Surely to goodness they know the average M&S shopper isn't going to be happy with a man regardless of his clothing or identity fitting their bra?

Weird and fetishistic for a transwoman to be working in a lingerie department anyway, let alone approaching girls to help them.
Im getting yanis vibes

I doubt the employee had a choice in where they were out to work

Why did M&S decide the lingerie department was the place?

Who put them forward for bra fitting training?

What self respecting man would want to measure women for bras?

So many questions. And I don't believe for a second that there wasn't another female somewhere they could have swapped with, even if it was ladies clothing or shoes rather than lingerie.

Maddy70 · 05/08/2025 00:37

I agree with you but not sure it's the Trans persons fetish as was stated . This is m&s management

Ramblingnamechanger · 05/08/2025 00:41

One in Leeds a few years ago .have not visited the shops since.

he wasn’t a bra fitter according to the article.
It is understood that the staff member involved works across the clothing section as well as other parts of the shop and is not one of the staff who carry out bra fittings.

but certainly inappropriate for him to be in that section and butt in. If a customer had wanted his assistance they could have asked him.

As for the idea that he didn’t have a choice about which section to work in…I can’t imagine that if a TW who had some respect for women and girls had said, sorry, I don’t think I should work in the women’s section and especially not lingerie that his management would have argued with him any more than they’d have forced any other man to do so. Can you imagine that story ‘M&S discriminated against transwoman (sic)’…

I don’t subscribe could you outline what has happened please? I really hope you aren’t going to say a trans employee was measuring a female for a bra and because she objected, she is in the wrong

CareerChange24 · 05/08/2025 01:05

Apologies. Read the second link. Perfect place for predators. So glad she had her mum with her as I was such a shy child I would have most likely gone along with it through fear. How many children has he got away with doing this to?

2021x · 05/08/2025 01:14

So hang on this wasn't even their area of work. What were they doing there?

DrPrunesqualer · 05/08/2025 01:22

This from 9 months ago. Couldn’t even bring themselves to call women women and girls girls

Honestly I can’t bring myself to shop there any more. Not since they started allowing men in the women’s changing room and can’t even be arsed to have proper solid doors

Yeah, he was just being friendly and helpful. Of course he was.

'Being friendly'.

No anyone with half a brain cell can work out that teenage girls get embarrassed about their bodies, especially around males.

And that a teenage girl being talked to by a male might make her feel threatened and intimidated.

Men who are friendly cross the road if they see a lone female walking at night. They aren't friendly and don't offer to walk her home.

The same rules apply.

Friendly males understand it's inappropriate and don't put themselves into that situation in the first fucking place.

A man who is seeking validation by working in a lingerie department, is by definition a narcissist creep. Even if he's 'just being friendly'.

Bath store

That’s interesting to hear. Going back 20 ish years ago now, I recall a trans man that worked in the ladies dept in the Bath store. My understanding was this individual was keen to move to the lingerie dept, but I’m not sure if they ever did. I would suspect not, as I know ladies weren’t happy about it, but I’m now wondering if it is the same person.

I didn’t see Bath mentioned in the article (apologies if I missed it), but I’m guessing you know it’s Bath for different reasons.

At least now it is clear, it isn't just old women complaining

A young trainee male nurse of age 18 looked after my daughter in hospital.. when she was a teenager helping her change.. onto the commode...helping her in every other nursing way... is there a difference.. ???
No way was he pervy. It was his job.

Right this is the reasonable work for a nurse, it is expected and risk assessed at the time.

It is important to acknolwledge that males are more sexually aggressive to females then to other males, and than females are to males. . Leading to females distrusting the actions of male around their bodies especially those aspects that are sexualised.

....And for those in the back again.... males also (even after transition) maintain a significant strength advantage over females. Putting females at increased risk when aggression and sexual aggression is portrayed by males towards them.

Your daughter of course could have asked for a women nurse if she wanted.
She has that right. Especially for intimate care

LGBTQ will still say trans women aren’t a threat. I think of the little Scots girl who was kidnapped held captive and SA’d. Luckily she seen her chance to escape when he fell asleep. And the trans woman put in a women’s prison and raped an inmate.

You don't see the difference between a medical professional and a random person working at a shop?

Read the article, apparently works across all clothing.

I think we need more info tbh. Everyone is jumping to the worst conclusion.

Maybe the employee was restocking in that section, could hear mother and daughter were struggling to find what they were looking for and made a genuine offer of help to find the right section / product, and the mother has taken offence.

Or maybe the employee was lurking around lingerie when they didn't need to be there, followed them to the changing room having seen them pick up bras and made a pervy comment.

I think there's a big, big difference.

I hear hooves, I think horses, not zebras.

Or,indeed, unicorns…
