Welcome to the Bluestocking Arms, the home of good company, excellent drinks and delicious cakes which magically have no irksome contents like gluten or sugar or calories or the kind of alcohol that causes problems - but you wouldn't knowSmile

Food and drink are served by a keen staff of gerbils, and other animals such as capybaras, quokkas, etc., also fulfil vital roles, while looking cute AF.

New Bluestockingers always welcome.

If you want icky, @Turbochook, I give you my first Bluestocking post, back in the mists of time: the Spam cocktail.

Is that the Sparp?

Magpiecomplex · 05/06/2025 21:27

That's the Sparp, yep!

Boiledbeetle · 05/06/2025 21:29

Still looks as delicious as the day you first posted it

Oh dear, Boily! Maybe this will cheer you up. I asked the AI for a beetle with an ear trumpet & it went as well as you might expect.

😂

Turbochook · 05/06/2025 21:46

Great! A pair of glace cherry boobs impaled on a hatpin. Mercifully the spam tin provides a measure of reassurance about the gloop over which they are suspended or I'd be really concerned...

Somewhere a bunch of blokes is sniggering over the results of their manipulation of the original algorithm... A less innocent version of the challenges doctoral students set each other to see who can sneak the most unlikely phrases into their thesis or cite illustrious, but ancient references without provoking comment from the examiners.

Listening to a local singer murder Every Breath You Take, and realising that as it rises on How my poor heart aches, it has echoes of Marie McKee's I've Forgotten What It Was In You That Put The Need In Me.

Specifically, We had the sweetest thing I think. Unfortunately she's still singing and I can't isolate the exact phrase because shes now murdering I Just Called.to say I Love You. Which is really frustrating.

My brain picks up earworms very quickly (Unforgettable by Nat King Cole is the easiest loveliest song to replace any earworm), so it's horrible when I thought she was singing a really unusual song that I know and love and can't properly check for certain.

'Every breath you take i'll be watching you'
Definitely time I went to bed if that creepy abuser's anthem is being sung.

Turbo, your day sounds awful, and the fact that all you want is peppermint tea is very abstemious of youSmile
I've taken to recycling previous [and other people's, credit where credit is due] images, so here is modom's peppermint tea, served by a greyback gerbil wearing a little blue waistcoat and, apparently, an ammunition pouchGrin

G'night, all, several of you have had tough days, so sleep well, and may the Dream Gerbil bring you restful dreams.
Myrtle, may the Dream Gerbil wipe your memory of all that mangled music!

And Flowers💙Flowers and a peaceful night to dear Swash.

A friend of mine uses an ammunition pouch for his phone etc. He looks wildly cool.

I now have to spend the rest of the morning expunging the spare from my mind again.

Hoping that Swashy and her daughter are okay and that the admin side is going as smoothly as it can. You're still in our thoughts on a regular basis, Swash. Flowers

Edited to make the flowers work!

I know it's terrible! I didn't state a colour, or even a helmet, it just decided you must want a pink one! (Although it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be when asked to depict a woman)

Had a trawl through some early threads from July, looking for AI sexist nonsense. There was plenty to choose from. I remember how all the women had to be either ancient dotty old crones or young nubile booby sirens, nothing in between. There were ALWAYS men cluttering up the Bluestocking. I had a big argument with AI about that, it claimed it needed to be "inclusive", although it could "understand my frustration"

🙄

There were many weird, nightmarish images too, and the sexist depiction of Frenchmen that we asked for (and got) in spades.

Boily could have an entire album devoted to her brilliant AI art!

Recycling images is ecologically sound!Grin

ifIwerenotanandroid · 06/06/2025 11:10

Did you not like the fireworks image, Inky? I remember how difficult it was (still is, probably) to get middle-aged, normal-looking women.

woman = 18yo with long hair, big boobs & a slutty way of dressing which she's falling out of
middle-aged woman = eldery
older woman = ditto
woman with glasses = better, more normal
woman in jumper = ditto

also

lioness = lion
female lioness = lion
female lioness without a mane = lion
lion & lioness = as requested

I wondered if that was the motive. I'm still dimming the lights in small towns across America.

This was supposed to be morris dancing. Maybe one of them's called Morris. Although, this being the Bluey, she'd have to be called Gmorris.

It's autocorrupt that I don't like. It changed sparp to spare upthread, rendering a comment of mine incomprehensible.

I need to get onto copilot or similar.

FuzzyPuffling · 06/06/2025 11:41

Hey Swashy, Pleased to see you've parked up on my bit of sea. Thinking of you.

No I should have picked a more boobified sultry image, the fireworks pic isn't a good example! My excuse is I'm not firing on all cylinders at the moment (post op bleariness/ pain). But I did see a LOT of your AI images that were fab, mosaics, chocolates, scenes.

MarieDeGournay · 06/06/2025 11:58

That's wonderful, Fuzzy, a real pirate ship!* it's like you could step on board and find the real Swashy *and give her a real hug on our behalfSmile

On reflection, I realise that that implies that I think Swash is really a pirate in real life, doesn't it? Please interpret it as a not-very-articulate comment about us, pirate ships, real life, hugs and Swash.💙

And please ignore the fact that in the six words following on from 'I realise..', 50% of them are the word 'that'!

I have an excuse - a morning in A&E which happily ended with them finding that it's not what they thought it might be, and I'm home now and absolutely fine - apart from being unable to string a sensible post together, obvs!

I've just been for a mammogram so am feeling very squashed.

DeanElderberry · 06/06/2025 12:09

That seems encouraging albeit cryptic. Take it easy for the rest of the day. Doctor's orders.

I went to a plant sale, there was some strategy in all that weeding. I need lots of space for my purchases. Then I went to the supermarket and bought a set of dumbbells in the middle aisle. Not quite sure what I was thinking. Also a couple of bottles of sunscreen - our early summer 'act of kindness' at church is buying sunscreen for the homeless. If it's anything like the previous efforts the priest organised there'll be a tsunami of the stuff by the end of the month.

Lunch next. I opened a can of tomato soup yesterday, some kind of connection to it being grumpiness day, then remembered Oscar loveslovesloves canned tomato soup - he came rushing down from the far end of the house and I had to consume it while pushing a furry feline face out of the way. I wonder will he repeat the act when I heat up the rest of it.
