Rabbit rescue targeted by TRAs

I saw Rosie Duffield tweet about this the other day. A charity that rescues rabbits has been coming under attack from TRAs. I'm not entirely sure what their 'crime' is; I think it's to do with an account they have followed. Which makes them actual Nazis of course 🙄

The book is awfully sad too, but it's not as bad as you might think : all the characters survive. But the bits about what happened in the warren they left are horrible. Nobody should listen to Art Garfunkel singing Bright Eyes, either.. 😪

Oh gods, I’m still traumatised! I was crying on the first page. Not helped by the fact that I had a little black and white terrier at the time.

I can still visualise the poster. Someone at college even had it up on their wall. God knows what they were thinking.

Still traumatised.

Back in 2016 someone at Channel 5 had the bright idea of putting Watership Down on on Easter Sunday. Cue loads of complaints from parents who sat their kids down to watch it thinking it was a cute bunny film. And then they did it again the next year in an attempt to make it a tradition, or possibly just troll those who had complained the year before.

I'm old enough to remember the little kid in the bunny suit singing "Bright Eyes" on Tiswas, although I could've sworn the bunny suit was blue and a bit less plushy, and that his singing was somewhat more flat. Maybe he was unavailable one week and they got an imposter in?

And now I've earwormed myself with that, to go along with "Bunnies, bunnies, it must be bunnies!" from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Great.

I hope those TRAs threatening them are punished. This kind of malicious complaint, esp on a tiny charity, should have some sort of penalty. At the very least, they should be kicked off X.

I remember singing Bright Eyes in my school choir in junior school (decades ago, I am old). The parents all cried.

Problem is, how would one punish the weirdies bothering rabbit charities? They may not even be in the UK.

I love Bright Eyes, I want it at my funeral (hopefully not for a while). I don’t want there to be a dry eye in the house 😂

I read The Plague Dogs when I was about 8. Thankfully I didn't understand it.

It's really heartwarming and they're so cute!!

There is something about watching a bunny eat a strawberry that is just too damned cute.

The more they have the usual moody men going for them and spewing bile, the more supporters they're attracting. Hopefully Birdie's art work on their merchandise will make them additional funds.
