Rabbit rescue targeted by TRAs

I saw Rosie Duffield tweet about this the other day. A charity that rescues rabbits has been coming under attack from TRAs. I'm not entirely sure what their 'crime' is; I think it's to do with an account they have followed. Which makes them actual Nazis of course 🙄

In what way is it under attack?

Going after their reputation and hounding them on their social media. Making unfounded accusations of them being transphobes and Nazis, which has caused them to lose followers.

Well I now follow them. Looking forward to lots of bunny updates in my feed!

The messages were pretty nasty. Basically this is a little Welsh bunny charity, they fundraise to keep the rabbits alive. They retweeted a comment about JKR (I think) an account in America got very angry, told them to take it down (they did), then sent the carrot cottage refuge a demand to now message you are sorry and say that all LGBT lives mattered and if they didn’t they were transphobic. Then lots of accounts messaged their followers to say they were transphobic and to stop supporting them as there were less bigoted bunny charities to support. Just spiteful and pointless really but a very happy outcome as the carrot cottage refuge has been inundated with support. If you follow them they send you pictures of bunnies and bunny stories.

I assume the guy forgot to switch out of the bunny account before he commented.

I am impressed that they didn't immediately back down apologising profusely once they realised the backlash.

Their PayPal is in their x bio if you want to donate. I suspect they'll be OK for a while. Terfs do not like bullies!

This is all because they put up a post stating that their page is just about the rabbits and they don't post anything relating to trans rights on that page.

Maybe they should have dyed the rabbits pink and blue and stuck pronoun badges to their fur. Not sure how they'd know if they're male or female though without the rabbits being able to tell them.

They may have lost a few hundred followers, but they've since gained several thousand, more than doubling their original follower account. Watching the situation unfold on X was so revealing of the sheer anger felt by some gender ideologists when their world view isn't uncritically centred and affirmed. My feed now has bunnies in it. 😁

I've sent a small donation. All bunnies matter.

That is good news. Hopefully they will see an increase in financial donations too so they can carry on their good work. I can't imagine how stressful it must be to have people trying to trash your reputation over something innocuous you posted on social media.

This incident showcases how transactivism operates in society. Slash and burn, bully and hate, destroy everything and anyone who doesn't bend the knee.

They posted a really helpful 'how to sex a rabbit' tweet yesterday. Which was really interesting and nothing at all to do with this pile on whatsoever.

Their bunnies are gorgeous.

You may jest, but I just walked past a woman with a small white dog on a lead that was dyed half blue and half pink on the ears and tail. I'm not even kidding.

Watched this unfold last night, now follow them and sent them a donation!

On the plus side I have a much nicer feed now.

I went for quick look, ended up cooing over bunnies for an hour and donating!

Totally not relevent to this thread, but I've always felt that Bugs Bunny playing Girl Bunny to distract some male character is a perfect illustration of (1) how patriarchy uses women as a symbol of male sexuality, and (2) how for men, womanhood often is/has become synonymous with women's sexualised clothes and makeup.

So apparently you may rescue bunnies in peace only after affirming that your first devotion is to trans.

'You shall have no other god but trans'. Second time of noting this today. Tis a common theme of the insanity.
