He sounds about 22. A massive pile of money, is basically about 30k (if 25k would be most of it, which is the implication). That seems like a lot, (if you're 22) but no it won't last very long at all, and he's wise to live cheaply if he doesn't want to have to earn a living any time soon.

I've no inside knowledge at all on Starmer, mind. But decades of observing the British state - and especially the last decade - make me incredibly dubious that a decent cover-up would be possible. Think of the dozens of people who'd know the truth. Think of the absolute hash frequently made of keeping info that they're meant to keep private, private. No way.

There's also lots of wild rumours circulating that he had a lovechild and secret injunction to hide. Frankly at the moment I think it's more likely people like maybe Putin trying to discredit him

Yes,I believe paying low level citizens (or ones who can be bribed) to firebomb is a method that has been used by Russian operatives elsewhere in Eastern Europe, which makes me think that was likely the case here. I think the fact they were Ukrainian rentboys (as seems obvious from their timelines) was designed to capitalise on the gay rumours flying around at that time, and was happily spread by Starmer's enemies (like George Galloway) and the Reform crowd. Note they also spread the affair and lovechild rumours - well, which is it? A Boris-like shagger or secretly gay? Both? Neither?

I don't like Starmer and think his judgement as PM has been appalling - I do also think he likes to attempt a good coverup - but like many, I really wouldn't have given a damn if he was gay. I think it's unlikely.

I don't think most people believe this, surely? But I worry that too many, esp the disaffected, are putting store in online rumours.

I agree outcry would not just be about homophobia, though like you I also doubt it's true.
