And if employers and unions etc comply with the law which is pretty crystal clear now.

Now they realise just how much money is behind these women they really won’t take these cases to court, part of the punishment is the worry about paying, that’s now not an issue, so let’s see how many decide to simply comply with the law. If they don’t, especially for larger organisations, their public liability insurers will have a fair bit to say about it.

It’s interesting to see JoMo’s reaction.

JKR is clear that she will provide financial support in a strategic way…..to enable case law to establish the precedents needed to force service providers to follow the SC ruling. Her clear intention being to secure single sex provision for females.

JoMo boasted that he has a cunning plan to spend the £300k+ crowd funded money (I’m not sure what the total is) in a top secret way that will create a legal precedent for trans people to use whichever single sex provision they choose. Has he been losing sleep that those pesky terfs will ruin his cutting plan through dumbing SARs to him?

Still trying to operate in the shadows then.. 🙄

For companies/organisations what have you that won't comply, I think it would be prudent to find out who their insurers are, especially Public Indemnity, and contact them telling them they are taking a risk insuring that client as they are breaching the laws. Contact the company and tell them you've/we've also contacted their insurers. Maybe CC each other into it.

CaptainSevenofNine · 24/05/2025 19:07

There are lots of women’s funds across the UK (many held by community foundations) that would really love donations.

I suspect the more donations they had, the more independent they could be.

I also suspect they are in a difficult situation in the cross hairs of this whole thing.

nah, I don’t suspect. I know.

I know a few quite well who just need income to be independent and not have to play the game anymore!

Theeyeballsinthesky · 24/05/2025 16:20

I bloody love JKR 😆

ETA there is missing context from a twitter pic in the post I quoted, some IT Person on the twits, giving it billy big balls. I'm not digging at the mumsnet poster.

I had to laugh at that. If the clangiest profesh skillz drop you can muster up is "IT person" then you're not all that.

I'm not much use in the context of websites, data protection and legal, you'd obviously get someone expert in to do those. Someone who actually does that for a living, not an "IT person".

EasternStandard · 24/05/2025 19:11

Amazing. Talented and strong.

What are you saying here? Is it that women’s cause funds are under funded? Post them here, we’d gladly garden based on validation? Is it wrong we’re applauding a fund that is not asking for external donations? We’re applauding it because it stands up for female sex based rights.

I may have misinterpreted.

teawamutu · 24/05/2025 20:05

R/transgenderUK has finally noticed: https://www.reddit.com/r/transgenderUK/s/CZKWqze0VZ

They're having a normal one, of course. Sample quotes:
"She will be looked at in the same way as those who flew confederate flags and hurled abuse at black children as they walked to school."

"Fuck her. GLP and TransActual has our backs and we need to just keep contributing to our combined, communal safety. Good luck to GLP on their suit and please donate!!!"

"This makes me laugh because if you wanted to get help from the funding but they don't allow you because you look masculine but are a woman that's fucked but if you are trans and do get funding because you look feminine enough well shit they fucked up real good"

"Anyone notice the rune like Venus symbol, It feels like symbolism from some very shady groups."

CaptainSevenofNine · 24/05/2025 20:05

JKR needs every single applause there is in the history of woman kind. She’s an absolute heroine to me.

i only mentioned the women’s funds because some PPs mentioned a desire to donate.

I’m connected to many and I know the struggles they face due to the whole sex and gender thing.

Women’s funds are grant makers. They all do it differently.

Genderwoo. Rots your brain.

They're also discussing how to spam the application form with nonsense. But I'm sure that's been anticipated.

JKR is the beautiful gift that keeps on giving. A simply brilliant woman of our time who has always maintained such selfless integrity. Despite her phenomenal wealth she has remained so in touch with everyday issues that she could so easily have ignored. We are so privileged to know her in our lifetimes. And she has such a wicked sense of humour to top it off!

I'm so fucking glad she's on our side. If her legal funds don't destroy you, her roasts will.

I don't know, but it's a crime that they're not sharing it.

God what a great day. Laughing so much. Look at Jolyon puffing himself up like the silly sod hasn't lost more cases than Ryanair.

Mmmnotsure · 24/05/2025 20:47

From the Reddit group re JKR:

"Good thing there aren't serious, actual threats to women's rights going on at the moment that this funding could be better put towards."

No words.

Brainworm · 24/05/2025 20:47

Brain rot indeed. It is difficult to fathom what kind of cognitive processing is going on when JKR’s words about the fund are interpreted to suggest that access will be determined by how feminine or masculine a woman looks. This sort of interpretation confirms that there is no merit in engaging with many TRAs.

With regard to the spamming strategy, it’ll take seconds to screen them out. Again, it represents a level of pettiness and desperation that isn’t evident on the women’s sex based rights side

DoS attacks? How quaint. I'm sure those cyber security guys will never have guessed someone might try that, even before they publicly announced it.

JKR's response to a poster on X musing about her data security and where date stored:

J.K. Rowling

@jk_rowling

Wait - are you saying I should have hired legal, data protection and IT experts when putting this together? OMG, I feel like such a fool, but it’s my very first time, so I just set it up on my own without telling anyone. And to cap it all, I’ve forgotten the password.

Wetoldyousaurus · 24/05/2025 21:27

Much respect to JKR, bloody brilliant move in this ridiculous chess game that we women find ourselves being forced to play.

To all those keen to garden but now with spare plants, please consider us adult human females in the colonies for your efforts, as we are not eligible for JKR’s fund.

In New Zealand we are putting our hopes on the ‘LAVA’ - Lesbian Action for Visibility Aotearoa case which challenges the exclusion of Lesbians from Pride on the basis of their GC beliefs. You can follow us on X - Lava Aotearoa. We don’t have a crowdfund through a platform but instructions on how to donate are on the web page at https://www.lava.nz/news/case-update-march-2025
