The filmmakers of 'Adult Human Female' are taking UCU to tribunal.

It's never worth me logging in to these tribunals. Whether I start work early so that I can take a very early lunch break, or work over my usual time and break in the early afternoon, whenever I log in is exactly when the court is going on a break. Tribunal tweets is a better bet for me. Anyone know whether they'll be doing this one?

If US money, surely it will be Stonewall. They recently claimed US funding paid for half their staff, which would be far more funding than any other player in the UK fight over the clash between women's and trans right. No doubt they'll be keen to see the lesbian view point the film presented be properly defended. </tongue in cheek>

Decision will be reserved after the hearing, no indication as to when this will be given.

TB thinks half a day of deliberation is likely not enough for deliberation, but says there are two claimants with very similar claims and he doesn't want to duplicate. Anticipating claimants' evidence this afternoon and all tomorrow. NC estimates a day of cross examination. (I'm a bit lost as to what's in between and how long it's taking) Judge hopes to get to submissions earlier than Thursday afternoon. Will be written reasons (reserved judgement)

Not great that their statement uses the phrase "beyond the pale."

Oops, NC wants them to watch the film which is 90 minutes long, at normal speed... That's not going to leave much time for anything else!

I applied for access last Friday morning. I got an automated acknowledgement so I know my request was received OK. I still don't have access & have just fired off a complaint.

Discussion of how to make sure claimant's witnesses, giving evidence from next to NC, can't read anything from NC's screen that they shouldn't be able to see; NC will experiment. Atmosphere seems quite collegial so far, unlike some other ETs. Adjourned till 12:45.

we-elll they won’t get there by supporting women, so if you’re (extreeeeemely unlikely) right, let’s hope all their funds goes to supporting women instead and when they get to abortion rights and rolling back gay rights they are broke.

I don’t think I feel adult human female should be trademarkable. It’s the definition of woman, and anyone who wants to use it should be able to, except of course those people who want to use it to mean male people or trees or chairs and make it completely meaningless.
