NC saying that gender identity belief is probably not woriads. Won't allow for any dissent and flattens everything in its path.

KnottyAuty · 04/04/2025 14:52

nauticant · 04/04/2025 14:50

NC saying that gender identity theory doesn't look like WORIADS to her.

Oh yes!!!! Go NC - this is what we have all been waiting for!

Mmmnotsure · 04/04/2025 14:53

NC quotes: "Cabaret Against Hate in association with UCU."

Appalonia · 04/04/2025 14:54

Mentioned the difference in how KM talk was treated

Appalonia · 04/04/2025 14:55

Dogwhistles!

Appalonia · 04/04/2025 14:56

Dogwhistles used to shut pp down

nauticant · 04/04/2025 14:56

Yes! UCU says that everything gender critical people say is a "dog whistle" and then everything they say can be shut down.

Mmmnotsure · 04/04/2025 14:56

NC Dogwhistles. If everything they ever say can be characterised as meaning hate in practice, you can put them all in the box marked 'hate' and shut them down for that reason.

Gutted - requested access via email yesterday evening and t
again twice today. Nothing - just Out of Office reply. Is that normal?

They usually come through as an OOF but as you read through it contain the details/link to join the tribunal

Appalonia · 04/04/2025 14:58

No evidence put forward as to who protesters were.

AsWithGlad · 04/04/2025 14:58

NC: Mr Brown makes a valiant attempt to wriggle out of….

Appalonia · 04/04/2025 14:59

He described it as ' our victory'

Datun · 04/04/2025 14:59

Saying women are adult human females, and transwomen are men, aren't dog whistles, they're actually what women are saying.

But they want to pretend it's a dog whistle for hate.

But when asked about the hate, no, we can't really see any hate.

It really does boil down to if you don't agree with this ideology, we are absolutely going to go off alarming but will never admit it

Appalonia · 04/04/2025 15:01

Buttars had no evidence of what harm might have been caused by showing the film

nauticant · 04/04/2025 15:02

Light-hearted campaigning stickers, that were put up 4 years previously "cannot be said to constitute harm to any person of normal robustness".

Is it Schrodinger's hate?

Definitely there, we think, but we can't find it

Mmmnotsure · 04/04/2025 15:03

NC R's evidence re harm was lighthearted stickers placed around city four years previously to screening. No harm from those stickers to a person of normal robustness.

[I had no idea during these proceedings that those stickers they kept going on about were years before.]

Appalonia · 04/04/2025 15:04

Totalitarian desire to control language

Mmmnotsure · 04/04/2025 15:04

NC GI = Totalitarian desire to control other people's language. Hyperbolic reaction to what they call 'misgendering' is an eg of that.

ThatPithySheep · 04/04/2025 15:05

I'm not a lawyer, but I know some of you are. I always listen to these tribunals and think that our side sounds coherent and sensible, while the TRA (in this case UCU) side sound bonkers. But I'm aware that tribunals deal in legal arguments, not just what sounds sensible.

So, if you are an expert in this area what do you think of the case?

ThatPithySheep · 04/04/2025 15:06

I thought they claimed those stickers appeared around the time of the screening and indicated an upsurge in 'transphobic hate' but were they from years before?

That's what Tribunal Tweets said, and what I heard too. NC said lighthearted, which fits with the seahorses are horses etc stickers that were described during the tribunal.

Happy Good Day GIF by Omer Studios

TB - I thank you for your service to feminism.
Your exessive use of the word dogwhistle and your client's complete unreasonableness has led to the possibility of a judgement about whether GI is WORIADS.
Just knowing that's been raised as a possibility in an open court makes it a very happy day.

edited to add - I like rainbows and I'm taking them back as of now

Mmmnotsure · 04/04/2025 15:15

NC Buttars and Wanggran [sp.?- can't be bothered to find] thinking they could discern the transphobic hate in a film that they hadn't even watched.

Appalonia · 04/04/2025 15:16

If you characterise women's concerns as Dogwhistles, there's nothing you can say that can't be characterised as hate.
