Even Tribunal Tweets have got fed up with typing dogwhistle.

TBH I didn't know dogs had whistles before this.

Mmmnotsure · 03/04/2025 16:47

"One is not born, but rather becomes, a dogwhistle," as Simone de Beauvoir definitely said.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/04/2025 16:48

Naomi is perfectly skewering him.

chilling19 · 03/04/2025 16:49

I think we have established that UCU do not support GC

TheOtherRaven · 03/04/2025 16:50

This seething hate.

Of people not being obediently submissive and deferential, and mentioning facts and reality.

It reminds me of that Thin Blue Line episode where the man is ranting about 'and you British keep eating prawn cocktail crisps even though we have told you not to!'

SidewaysOtter · 03/04/2025 16:51

"I dogwhistle therefore I am" - Descartes

"If only gender critical people would come to me when they're under attack, they'd see how fair and reasonable I can be!"

With an offer like that available it shows how unreasonable gender critical people are by not taking it up.

Doesn't that just illustrate his paternalist perspective as the arbiter of reality?

AnnaMagnani · 03/04/2025 16:53

The likelihood anyone GC would ever discuss their views with him is less than zero.

But apparently that means they aren't upset.

I inherited a rather clunky looking dogwhistle off of my great great grandfather. It was used for his sheepdogs.

It's currently sat on my shelves gathering dust.

I did briefly try using it to train my dogs (not sheepdogs) but either they shared 2 braincells to rub together and one was always on annual leave or they thought it was rather nebulous.

Mmmnotsure · 03/04/2025 16:54

NC You are very good at hearing and understanding when trans people tell you they are under attack but not so good at extending that understanding to GC ppl
GB No one with GC beliefs has told me they are under attack in same way as t, black ppl have. Never had that kind of convo with anybody GC.

[Well, would you ask this man for help???]

NB On one hand stickers, on the other menacing and aggressive crowds. Which group has more reason to feel threatened.
GB Reject that description of what happened. Small group of protesters physically stopped ppl and we weren't part of that. We were a way away having a lovely time singing and dancing.

TheOtherRaven · 03/04/2025 16:55

It reminds me of that thread where Hayton made a show of listening very nicely to women's reasons why they didn't want him and other men in their spaces, and then kindly and paternally explaining that having heard the little women out, there were no reasons there he felt were important enough and his managerial decision was that he'd be using women's spaces. <Head pat>

And then being faintly surprised that women were so unreasonably irritable with him about it.

SidewaysOtter · 03/04/2025 16:56

To be fair, it's awfully hard to hear when you have your fingers in your ears and are chanting "La, la, la, I can't hear your transphobic dogwhistle".

Appalonia · 03/04/2025 16:57

The word ' inclusive' is a bloody dogwhistle!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 03/04/2025 16:58

Agree.

Quite amusing in an awful kind of way how very concerned he claims to be by people who produce hyperbole and drama about hearing words that jar their personal fictions, compared to the actual reality of threatened and actual harm?

And again the man explaining having a lovely time singing and dancing near assault and threats to women. Is he this oblivious to the spectacle he's making of himself?

GB UCU gave Katy Montgomerie money to help re equipment for KM's talk.

[But it was only a small amount, so no need to worry about it.]

Seems odd to me that R's counsel would ask that question at the end. It just leaves me with thinking how very differently the two events were treated.

SidewaysOtter · 03/04/2025 17:01

You need to whisper more quietly, Naomi, we can hear you!

MarieDeGournay · 03/04/2025 17:02

GB "If only gender critical people would come to me when they're under attack, they'd see how fair and reasonable I can be!"

Remember all those cards we sent to Sandie Peggie? well..........

Dear Mr [I don't think he has a PhD?] Buttars,
Just a few lines to inform you that I'm gender critical and I feel under attack, so you can't say you didn't know.
Yours etc
😆

MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking · 03/04/2025 17:04

Ooo, AHF screened as support for GC women, and there were protests a plenty.

If instead it was screened to educate the students on how to spot a witch (and their many evil dogwhistles), he doesn't think there'd be a protest at all. 🤔

Ha that would be funny if he suddenly got a load of cards!

I guess so the room wasn’t there to imply it was more money than it was? I wondered too.

AsWithGlad · 03/04/2025 17:08

I have stamps!

I don’t know when they are starting tomorrow, though. After an hour each to read through the written submissions? Or an hour in total?

I'd want to know what PITCH the dogwhistle was - mine only respond to the audible gundog pitch - the 10.5. .... pondering what pitch I'd respond to.......
