Welcome all. Can the gerbils please ensure that all the Tunnocks products are safely stowed in the capacious larder, and perhaps the quokkas could be responsible for counting everyone onto the bus and back off at the new thread - many thanks!

<Takes notes>

No savoury dishes.

<Removes tea cake infused lamb chops from recipe list>

I think Mexican chocolate chicken could be in the savoury section. Unfortunately it seems to be called a mole, which just adds to the creatures at the Bluey.

I did use up a Christmas pudding flavour chocolate bar (which was rank by itself) by adding it to chilli.

Don't Americans put marshmallow with sweet potato as a thanksgiving side dish?

Boily, how brilliant you are! 👏
The phrase 'the moment demands flair' is etched into my consciousness now, I only wish I had learnt it earlier in life when I had moments like that😂
Looking forward to the next episode!

Geranium is very cute, and her spikey hairstyle is very Hackney Dyke c1990, but she reminds me of someone .. oh yes, it's those rodents who have been genetically modified with giant woolly mammoth characteristics.
I think we're going to need a bigger pub😧

I hope android doesn't party too hard at the book launch. These things can be a bit overwhelming!

Ooh dear, what happened? Where did? What did I? shakes head to clear it; worrying rattling & clanging sound echoes round the now empty party room at the Bluey...

Well, that's no reason for us to do the same. shudders

Britinme · 20/03/2025 13:02

I agree. It’s disgusting unless you think of it as a dessert rather than a side dish. Ditto “salads” made with lime Jello (which is jelly - on this side of Atlantic, jelly is jam without bits in it, as in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which is actually delicious).

In my grand experience of ONE Thanksgiving, no, they do not.

Fortunately. Or thankfully.

One of my DC had an imaginary dragon. He had to be sat up for meals and seen over zebra crossings and squeezed into the toddler bit of the supermarket trolley. I had to brush him sometimes.

I grew quite fond of him, but when we moved it appeared that he opted to stay behind - he never manifested in our current house.

I hope he's okay. I suspect he was related to Errrol.

That's lovely, EdithSmile
I didn't have an imaginary dragon when I was a child, I had a rather intrusive Guardian Angel🙄
I wish I'd had a choice, I'd definitely have gone for the winged creature that breathes fire, rather than the one who 'protects' you 24/7 and probably grasses you up to God if you do something bad...Dragon

How do you know it was imaginary? He could have been a relation of the one Carl Sagan had in his garage.

MyrtleLion · 20/03/2025 15:44

I just discovered an on demand bus service in our area which might help my DSD get around easily. I tried explaining it to DH and he wanted to know everything so I downloaded it and showed him. And I'm really pissed off because it's his DD and he could have done that.

And obviously the real reason I'm pissed off is because I haven't heard about the interview.

But it's still his fault.

Well, only one of the DC's was able to describe this dragon. Only the one DC was liable to bellow at me, 'Do uppa his sea'bel' NOW!' should I start to close the car door without being a sufficiently caring dragon foster-mother.

Invisible dragons can be surprisingly hard work.

Swashbuckled · 20/03/2025 17:25

I wish I had a dragon that nobody else could see. Or even a friendly ghost. Or that my hound talked, but only when we were alone in the house.

So many missed opportunities for magic so far….. (Sigh)

Hey Swash, if it's magic you're looking for.....
I'll see you in the Bluestocking later 😍
😄

I’ve just realised it’s the spring equinox today. That must deserve some sort of celebration? Especially when it’s such a gorgeous day.

She's flirting again, Swash.
I'll be she was a right trouble to the nuns and her guardian angel (who probably resigned in despair).

I celebrated by seeing a toad on my afternoon's walk. The dogs missed it and had frolicked on ahead, and it was very still, so I was able to have a really good look.

True. She will have been “a bold girl” I imagine… 🤣

Equinox!

Thank you, I've been wondering all afternoon why I'm so knackered. That explains it. Unfortunately I can't go to bed extra-extra early because I have to go and do stuff, but I'll be safely tucked in well before 10:00 so shouldn't complain. I usually adjust within three or four days.

Late to the party after being out most of the day, but this is almost right!

The front cover looks good, but the spine appears to say something like 'Legally joined twins on banshees'.

A question for Pedants’ Corner occurs to me. ‘Inordinate’ means ‘exceeding reasonable limits’. Is this a concept which is applicable here?
