By stealth again - the deception! Rage.

I’m reposting this for all auditors - THIS is exactly what all the trusts we have done so far have been like. Public-facing pages go hard on single-sex spaces, harder to find pages (or only findable using FOIs) say, but if you are trans you can use whatever space you want.

Be aware of this in your searches!

3. Definitions Same-sex accommodation (SSA) is defined as sleeping accommodation, toilet and/or washing facilities which patients or service users share only with people of the same sex.
5.7 Transexual/transgender/non-binary patients... Such patients should be accommodated according to their presentation, the way they dress, and the name and pronouns that they currently use. Sensitivity to all patients should be considered on room allocation and where practical transsexual/transgender/ non-binary patients should be offered a single room accommodation.

This procedure supports the Trust in its delivery of inclusive services and ensures that it does not breach the Equality Act 2010. Under this legislation, a Trans person no longer has to be under medical supervision or have a gender reassignment certificate to prove that they are Transgender. They must be treated as the gender they identify with... and the correct pronouns must be used at all times

They also helpfully shared this -

Its the same across the board.

Public facing webpage = single sex accommodation for your dignity and privacy. Hidden policy = gender self ID so mixed sex.

We have to be glad really. It’s a big fuck yo by Stonewall. They were so “clever” fiddling the policies that they forgot to check what the patient facing info said. Difficult for them to claim we all knew what was happening and it’s going to be seriously unpopular. We need to get these all done ASAP to give the EHRC support. Once the public are with them the politicians will have to get out of the way. She’s only got until November so we need all trusts done by the summer?! Best get busy?!
