Damn, that is a thorough article!

Amazing work vipers!! We did this!!!

It's all focussed on the patient stuff. There were quite a few spicy quotes on the staff policies and then the forensic patient side was quite eye popping. So there might be another story in it... we will need to wait to see

@KnottyAuty, you are amazing - thank you for starting this!!

Aw gosh that is nice of you to say that - but I wouldn't have got very far without everyone pitching in. I got so jittery following the Peggie tribunal - anxious because I had to sit at home watching Naomi Cunningham try to wrangle the law and I could only watch. I don't know about anyone else but I just feel a lot less anxious now that I am able to do something practical to help, even in a small way. And to have you all helping too - love you vipers!

I've not been able to contribute at all and I really wanted to be able to. Not having a great time at keeping up with emails or notifications lately, but just wanted to say I've read everything and you're all doing amazing and I think you're all tremendous activists for women's rights.

teawamutu · 20/04/2025 23:16

That is such a great article. Enraging, of course, but bloody brilliant in the way it sets it out.

We've done something really important here - no one journo would have had time to compile it all and probably wouldn't have thought it worth trying because most don't know what we do about the sleight of hand.

Salute to Captain Knotty and the redoubtable Ermine Amies for bringing us together and doing so much heavy lifting and digging.

Really proud to be part of this. And going to invest in a wee viper-themed something for myself, too.

Harassedevictee · 21/04/2025 05:24

@KnottyAuty I saw the article on a different thread and wanted to say a huge thank you.
The audit was such a good idea and so well timed.

Thank you to you and everyone who helped you. 👏

Cantunseeit · 21/04/2025 08:48

Brilliant @KnottyAuty you made that happen. Interesting to note that there are still a fair few comments (I haven’t read them all, just had a quick scan) saying things like “I’m glad I don’t live in London”. People don’t understand yet that it’s most likely happening everywhere

Faffertea · 21/04/2025 09:17

@OestreBunny
I found this while looking at the FOI for Worcestershire Acute Trust.

Well done @KnottyAuty for getting this going and for the article!

TwoLoonsAndASprout · 21/04/2025 09:32

@KnottyAuty, have we (by which I mean you!) sent the results of the London audit to the EHRC? To strengthen the Baroness’s hand?

One mention of women, in the context of letting the TIM choose which provisions he fancies.

Up there with the EQIA I found which went through each PC but did gender instead of sex, and only talked about trans so the impact was positive 😡

Peregrina · 21/04/2025 10:09

I hope we get to the stage of auditing the whole country, and pretty fast, so that eventually you can provide information for an article that says that prior to 16th April 2025 NO GB hospital Trust provided single sex facilities.

It is possible that a few HR Departments will be working overtime revising their advice, but I suspect not, so we should be able to capitalise on their inertia.

thenoisiesttermagant · 21/04/2025 10:47

It's not just they don't provide single sex spaces, it's that they lie about it to patients because NHS managers have illegally, secretly and dishonestly changed the meaning of words. So any man who fancies it can say he's a woman, no safeguarding questions asked.

We know at least one crime - a rape - has resulted from NHS managers doing this. I'd bet good money there are hundreds if not thousands of cases of crimes of indecent exposure that have resulted from these deceitful policies. But they won't keep data on this because it's what they want, seemingly.

Women can't even self exclude because they don't know until they see a male bodied person, and then it may be too late.

And if they'll gaslight and abuse nurses about changing rooms and patients who are rape victims then it seems pretty clear that explicit NHS policy is to use female patients as a resource for male wants. Even criminal behaviour.

This is it entirely.

They say, publicly, that they provide single-sex spaces. But behind the scenes (visible on less easily accessible webpages, or even only via FOIs) they have been allowing anyone to self-ID into whatever space they want.

It is entirely a lie. And if the one FOI I found about sexual assault in one particular trust is anything to go by, you are correct in guessing that they probably have not been recording the negative effects of this - this particular FOI said that there is no entry in DATIX for “sexual assault” so they couldn’t say if any had happened.

Congratulations @Knotty- what a brilliant piece of work.

ArabellaScott · 21/04/2025 11:27

Well done Knotty and all of us. This kind of work can really help.

IHeartHalloumi · 21/04/2025 11:36

Has anyone written to their employer about single sex changing spaces yet? Local NHS policy still states trans identifying people can choose their toilets and changing rooms

Opinionpolecat · 21/04/2025 11:51

Well done everyone! This is fantastic work.

Rightsraptor · 21/04/2025 12:56

@KnottyAuty I'd like to come on board please.

I'll start with Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, if it's still available. Only because it's for W&C, but I don't mind anything, really, if it's been taken.

Awful document. I found a link to it on the Herfordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust website too. Guess it was carried over when the Worcestershire Trust took over the delivery of mental health and learning disability services in Herefordshire too

Not yet. I was waiting to see what they did with the Scotland info. I’m due a reply… Will report back here next week hopefully

THIS.
This is why this boring old information is so powerful.
Many seem to assume it’s someone else’s problem.
Or that this is all a lot of hot air over nothing - a waste of everyone’s energy because it can’t be that bad.
But it’s difficult to ignore the enormity of whole regions and home nations adopting this by stealth.
That’s why all of you helping here - even if you can spend an hour to do just one - will force people to pay attention.
if the 3 women of FWS can do it out in the open - then we can certainly impose a thousand cuts on the government from the comfort of our sofas?!
Keep up the good work wims 🥰😘😎🙏🏻❤️😊

Thank you @teawamutu.

I am so proud of what you wonderful women have done with my FOIs. Great coverage in the Telegraph - and the report you've provided for EHRC Scotland.
