I want to meet other GC women in person

I've joined the WRN
I'm active in GC FB groups

But I've never been to any meet ups - possibly because I'm not in a city and the small towns near me don't seem to have any GC activity that I know of.

I'm not an activist but I would just like to hang out with other sex realists. How does one do this?!!

Do any of you meet people in real life?

Happy to be DMd and invited to a Whatsapp in the hope of meeting people near me in person! If only to find people to walk my dogs with LOL.

Actually - having said I’m happy to receive DMs just noticed they’re disabled?!! Anyone know how to switch those on? As far as I know I’ve never disabled them!

Been disabled due to gross photos being PM to people.

I would really try to get to an IRL event if you can, even if it involves a bit of travelling.

I’m in East Anglia too, and also a single parent. It would be so nice to not have to tread on eggshells!

I'm in south cambs. Still quite a way away. I've only been very quietly GC. I freelance so even though I think most of my clients (construction industry) would likely agree with me it isn't something that would naturally come up. I contribute to the forums and garden when I can afford it.

I have members of the family who are super twaw so it's not something I bring up at family events to avoid causing arguments. Feel more confident arguing if I'm challenged now though.

Ironically my biggest support has been my bisexual brother who is younger and seeing a lot of this in his friendship group. He's very rational headed about this which was really encouraging.

@Cerialkiller I used to live in SCambs. There's a really good meet up but obviously I can't post any details on here.

@JazzyJelly I'm in Manchester too! I went to one meet up back in 2018/19 maybe to a very interesting talk held in a church in the city centre but venue not announced until just before so a group of us met at the station. It was great but I'm a single parent too so didn't manage another one but DD is older now so I could escape occasionally (not an undercover TRA honest).

The WRN in Medway meets regularly. I'm in Kent but haven't made it to a meet up yet. Definitely worth joining your local WRN if there is one. So wonderful to find like-minded women nearby.

I've found it's quite effective to hang out with most regular women, give a little hint to test the water, such as an eye roll about pronouns, and what do you know? You find you've been hanging out with GC women all along.

You'll have to get on a bus or train or into your car and travel. Once you've met up at a WRN event you'll meet other women who may live fairly close by, but you'll need to put in some effort or start a group in your home town/ village if that's what you want. Talk to friends and neighbours, peak a few and start your own social group. That what I've done. Our group meets in the pub once a month and disguises itself as a book group, though the staff rumbled us once they started eavesdropping. Fortunately most of them seem to be GC.

@Bannedontherun , I’m east Mids too with WRN currently disabled. Have to very careful at home.

I have met several great women in my area through attending let a woman speak events a few years ago pre Covid but it is hard to find each more of us so keeping an eye on this thread. I am SW.

@Bannedontherun depending on where you are in the East Mids, it might be worth getting in touch with the WRNs in neighbouring counties?
I know of some active groups that fall within EMids
