There was a news story a year or so ago, an American badger buried a cow, researchers think to eat later.

Apparently America badgers do cache food, whereas European badgers don't, in general. As above, the European variety are evidently too well-bred.

(Some other mustelid species also cache food, but not all.)

Thought I’d take the hound for a walk earlier while the rain wasn’t too bad. It became heavier while we were out, but it was nice so we extended our usual route. Foraged my first wild garlic of the year, which I added to lunch. Felt like I was winning, but then realised I thought it was Saturday until now and feel a bit cheated.

Tbf, re. the quokkas, i felt bad for them and flattered that i happened to be the person they spoke to (dumb luck, i was the only person in the snug - late breakfast), but i had a lapful of quokkas all desperate to be cuddled.

It was awesome!

Speaking of desparate to be cuddled, it was very windy overnight and left my Rosy a bit discombobulated this morning so instead of the usual stamping round she came for a cuddle with me and Oscar. I think she must be able to increase her specific gravity at will, as the dear little silky heap of fur resting on my arm got heavier and heavier and HEAVIER and I'm very lucky something outside attracted her over to the window or I'd never have been able to leave my bed.

Certainly no need for bazookas. The Bluestocking does have, for reasons lost in the mists of time, a canon.
