What's her name?

I think she's called Rosy.
And she definitely likes you Android

She loves all of us, though it got a bit weird when you had your turn with Rosy...

Rosy is a perfect name - I was thinking of Roxy, that poor red panda cub who died of fright when fireworks went off.😢

FuzzyPuffling · 22/02/2025 17:52

I too think of Roxy- that was terribly sad. (Hence my wanting to put a red panda into the safety of the Bluestocking)
Rosy seemed like a nod to her.

FuzzyPuffling · 22/02/2025 17:53

I think I may be giving her some sort of massage and you have my wig perfectly!

FuzzyPuffling · 22/02/2025 17:55

But.

There's MEN in that there pub!!!!!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 22/02/2025 18:01

I need to sit here with my leg up - I twisted my knee and the muscle behind it sort of went pop and now I can hardly walk on it. And this was my good knee too. I don’t know if it’s to do with the new exercises the physio gave me - she wants me to try to bend my knee past where it can currently go, and I did that this morning, then went for a shower, and was about to do the rest of the exercises when I stood up, maybe twisted a bit, and broke.

So I am sitting with my leg propped on a pillow, whinging gently. I think a medicinal hot chocolate with Baileys might help, if the gerbils would be so kind.

DeanElderberry · 22/02/2025 18:05

Oh no

Knees are such buggers. All my sympathy.

FuzzyPuffling · 22/02/2025 18:09

Oh woley how horrible. Much sympathy.
I think you're right about the Baileys- laced hot choc. Just what you need.

lcakethereforeIam · 22/02/2025 18:11

Sympathy Flowers my ankle went pop when I sprained it, it was fairly painful at the time, I was nearly sick. It's not been right since, though it's much better. I never went to the Doc., t'was covid times and I thought they'd be busy. Don't be me. Speak to a medic (your physio?). Soonish. The pop was possibly cartilage or tendon tearing or rupturing. I looked on NHS website, scared myself and decided it would get better by itself. I repeat, don't be me.

Rosy is a lovely name. I thought Amanda, Amanda the Panda, but on reflection prefer Rosy.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 22/02/2025 18:13

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius I asked for an ice pack on your knee, but the AI got a bit carried away...

OMG I am you. ditto ditto ditto.

Chersfrozenface · 22/02/2025 18:15

Woley, have a hot beverage with Bailey's, a nice plump cushion and an emotional support panda.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/02/2025 18:15

That is indeed a bugger, Woley.

It's been a beautiful day here, the sky now is the most lovely deep blue with a few bright planets. I'm just going to go outside with my binoculars for a moment.

Smile I hope the booknooking worked.

I followed up my own question about booknooks, and yes, they did originate in Japan as I suspected.

I'm really fascinated now! Unlike the miniatures and models I've made hitherto, perspective is key, isn't it? A different ..um..perspective.

I might do a bit of a mock-up in cardboard to see if I have the necessary skill and commitment to do one.
That would mean, however, leapfrogging the waiting list of 'ordinary' models I have yet to attempt, every Christmas and birthday brings a new oneHmm

Happy to take some off your hands. Though the booknooking is getting addictive. I did half an hour this morning. Then another three and a half hours this afternoon. I've learned so much from the first one that I'm doing more finishing touches (wiping away visible glue, using a scalpel to press out the thinnest pieces, taking more time on each piece etc).

I would recommend getting a cheap/easy one first to finesse techniques. I've discovered that they're much cheaper on Temu than Amazon. They are made by the same company so the working conditions are the same, just more money goes to Amazon.

Swashbuckled · 22/02/2025 18:47

I always go for the caramels first @Boiledbeetle 😋

ErrolTheDragon · 22/02/2025 18:54

I love Rosy's "WTF where are we?" look in the second picture, android😂

Swashbuckled · 22/02/2025 18:54

I LOVE Rosy the red panda 😍; I hope she is a cuddle monster.

After reading these latest posts, I’ve just made myself a hot chocolate; a drink that wouldn’t usually spring to mind.

Today has been an average sort of day. Went for a country walk with the trusty hound. Did some house jobs. That’s about it. Have a few busy weekends coming up so am welcoming the comfortably dull.

God, even my post is dull 🙄.

Swashbuckled · 22/02/2025 19:00

The gerbils are loving her too…
(They’re tickling her tummy, just to be clear.)

Swashbuckled · 22/02/2025 19:01

After my planet/stargazing my powers of observation deserted me...picked up an 'essentials Waitrose' tin from the section of the shelf where we keep butter beans and didn't notice until I'd opened it that it was actually artichoke hearts.
Quite why DH had (a) bought them and (b) put them among the butter beans I don't know, but what other than some sort of salad can I do with them? (we're off very carby food like pizza alas)

FuzzyPuffling · 22/02/2025 19:09

I dont think I've ever had an artichoke heart, so I can be of no help whatsoever. I am vaguely impressed that your DH bought them- my DH would avoid like the plague, even if they were 1p.

Swashbuckled · 22/02/2025 19:11

@ErrolTheDragon

Personally, I’d just bung them in a plastic tub in the fridge until another day when I’d had time to think, and open the butter beans.
