Newly renovated, beautifully appointed. Food and Beverages, excellent (if sometimes unexpected service), delightful clientele, special accommodation for invalids, pedants, readers and normal people.

Maybe that's their gang, I'm pretty sure none of that lot are gulls.

Boiledbeetle · 14/01/2025 19:26

Magpiecomplex · 14/01/2025 19:19

Was Dad a pigeon? I don't remember.

Steve the pigeon bugger seagull, got pigeons on the brain now! was the dad. Kevin stepped in/shacked up with Sharon and the babies as soon as it is as rumoured Steve had been killed in a bin wagon accident. Although from subsequent sightings I believe that Steve is still alive, spying occasionally on us and family, after doing an insurance fiddle and trying to get out of fatherhood.

It's the gull version of being a punk or a goth. They hang around acting like pigeons.

FuzzyPuffling · 14/01/2025 19:30

But have you heard them?
"Feed the birds, twopence a bag..."

Magpiecomplex · 14/01/2025 19:13

That's just a long-haired tribble, isn't it?

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Bannedontherun · 14/01/2025 19:34

Magpies colluding with lions, who would have thought it …..

DrBlackbird · 14/01/2025 19:00

Right. This place is looking impressive including the new sanitarium. Can TB be situated next to a (safe, not crumbling) cliff edge please? As part of the sanitarium, I’d just love to sit in a wheelchair with a tartan blanket over my knees pushed outside for some sunshine and bracing sea air to rest and recover from the insanity of life. Hmm it might be a bit early in the year though so also content with one of the soft chairs by the fire with a faux fur blanket and the gerbils bringing over a hot toddy.

Sorry for the delay, Blackbird, I was digesting dinner...

Finally found you a spot near the fire.

The fan is hiding her head, I believe, but I haven't bothered to check. She's only a servant.

Gosh, you've changed. I remember you when you were common, like the rest of us.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 14/01/2025 19:48

FuzzyPuffling · 14/01/2025 18:54

Ah Magpie, I did mine yesterday. But being a cheapskate, I just bought the rubber bit and changed that. I've always found it by far the easiest way.

Except it seems you can only buy rubber replacements in quantities sufficient to change 12 wipers. Anyone need a new windscreen wiper blade?

I took my car to Halfords & a very nice young bloke fitted them for me, in the car park.

DeanElderberry · 14/01/2025 19:49

That's my strategy. I'm an independent capable feminist woman, and I get blokes to do jobs for me sometimes.

To be honest I was distracted by the extra tails and the fact that your fan servant appears to be headless...

Ooh, I think we've found one of the Bluey's resident ghosts! I was wondering where they'd got to.

OK, so that's the Headless Servant, has anyone seen the Blue Lady or the Crying Wombat?

Someone told me the lion was the King of the Jungle, so that makes me a Queen!

Not sure how anyone missed the Crying Wombat...

@MyrtleLion i look so incredibly relaxed it’s making real life feel even more a stressed and cold affair. That will be my happy place now easily envisioned!

I was a bit worried about the floating toddy, but thought as it's The Bluestocking, it's completely fine.

FuzzyPuffling · 14/01/2025 20:15

Oh the poor little wombat. Why is she crying? ( Is it because she is dead?). Can we resurrect her please?

FuzzyPuffling · 14/01/2025 20:16

PS you can keep the Blue Lady.

Bannedontherun · 14/01/2025 20:18

Blue lady tells me she was accused of being a witch mid menopause, dunked to death, and stuck with the ghostly symptoms.

She went looking for her pal who was hoping to be sucked off but nothing has happened for either of them as yet.

FuzzyPuffling · 14/01/2025 20:20

Maybe she'll have a hot flush soon and turn a better colour..

DeanElderberry · 14/01/2025 20:20

I'll nip up to the chapel and say a prayer for the repose of both their souls, that will settle them. Actually, one for the headless servant too, we're quite adequately staffed with the living.

Neither does Sharon I never said that, that would be a bad thing to say so I didn't say it😈

Magpiecomplex aka ModLibWom - in the absence of instructions I always look for look for a youtube tutorial.

The thing I find most difficult re windscreen wipers is when you replace the blade bit, and you have to kind-of hook it in place and there's a very specific knack to it and I never get it right first time, or 2nd or 3rd. Or.. well you get the picture!

Cake commiz about the dentistry, I very carefully did not read the bits in posts about other people's experiences in the chair of 😱.
Like you I have good teeth but the few times I've had to have something done, it has been major - it's like dentistry is making up for lost time with us, isn't it?!

Take care of yourselfSmile

Little?! She's enormous!

FuzzyPuffling · 14/01/2025 20:29

Windscreen wipers- feed the blade in from one end, rather than try to hook it in.

There speaks the voice of experience.
