Newly renovated, beautifully appointed. Food and Beverages, excellent (if sometimes unexpected service), delightful clientele, special accommodation for invalids, pedants, readers and normal people.

One for each of four legs obv. She needs the other 2 to hold them.

Magpiecomplex · 19/01/2025 15:01

D'oh! Of course. Silly me!

Magpiecomplex · 19/01/2025 15:34

Ok, I'll bite. Why do you have four identical Nokia phones?

A quarter of a century (!!!!) ago as a family we all bought the same phone at the same time, think it was a cheap deal in Tesco at the time. I ended up using mine the longest so ended inheriting everyone elses as they moved on to new phones (in case mine broke I think!).

How on earth was 2000 a quarter of a century ago?! Does not compute. The reason for having four identical phones makes sense though. Technically I own two nearly identical phones (different colours) - one for each child.

Boiledbeetle · 19/01/2025 16:27

@Magpiecomplex I'm struggling with the fact that we are a quarter of a century into this century. I'm honestly not sure where the last 25 years went!

I'm sure it was only five minutes ago when everyone was moaning about their cheque books now having the wrong century on them, yet now we have to explain to entire generations what exactly a cheque is!

Someone tell me when they've found those missing series please. Oh, and all the rest of Firefly after the first series and film.

Sorry, sorry, sorry. It's taken ages and the flying squirrel librarians (so they can reach the top shelves) promised me this last night, but apparently some of the requested titles are quite - how shall I put it? - obscure.

They are definitely on the case, and sensible gerbil (she does hate being referred to as sensible all the time) has been very patiently waiting.

How about beetles?

Reasons for getting a pet Boiled (oh that doesn't read well does it!):

I can help you escape weird men

I can read poetry to you (books available on Amazon https://amzn.eu/d/3cgAjxo and https://amzn.eu/d/2HnovVN )

I can check you for fleas

We take really cute photos together!

had to wait til mr banned returned to make sure he would not mind a pet Beatle on the boat, he is okay with that.

so boiled can you sort out a beetle life jacket?

MyrtleLion · 19/01/2025 16:54

There is a cosy sci-fi nook in the library where they still haven't removed the Christmas lights. Apparently the flying squirrels like them and no one boring has been along to complain.

They do store the Doctor's Tardis there, but please don't tell anyone or all the boys will want to come in - to be honest, I wasn't expecting to see it either. It's amazing what AI discovers even when you don't ask.

They do have everything asked for, including the real final episode of Enterprise Season 4, seasons 2-22 of Firefly (season 23 will be broadcast later this year), but they haven't got around to printing the fancy dust jackets.

Phew!

That was quite a lot of work. Did you know there are 42 subterranean levels, a shooting range (archery mostly, but some pistol and rifle), a golf course (which they think will be repurposed as a woodland glen because they don't have many takers), and a fully operational 1,000 seater musical theatre?

I now require a lot of wine.

And you deserve it @MyrtleLion! Bagsy first go in the TARDIS. I am a doctor, it's allowed...

Well, in that case, be my guest!

I've just realised why there are 42 storeys - partly because that's how high the shelves go, obviously - but it's also the answer to the question about life, the universe and everything, again, obviously.

As it's the Bluestocking, there must be a lift. Do let me know when you find it.

Bannedontherun · 19/01/2025 17:10

As long as David Tenant is not in there we should all go together for an exploration

If he is, I'm sure Woley can look after him.

DeanElderberry · 19/01/2025 17:17

That's bliss. it took me a few go-throughs to really get into Enterprise - Archers was so un-Starfleet at the beginning, and I will always feel robbed that we didn't get to see how he eventually became one of its founders. And it would have been great to see more of the early days of Tellarites and Andorians and Vulcans. And to know why we saw so little of Denobulans in the later years.

You know, I've never seen a gerbil's eyes glaze over before.

Sorted! Sort of! Apparently AI thinks we should share and Mr Banned got sick of us arguing over who would wear it and left us both behind!

The lift is probably camouflaged as a bookcase, @MyrtleLion. Chameleon circuit. That's how I'd do it, anyway.

Of course!

It's probably super-quick, too!

But then, I wouldn't have found the party shop or the Formula One track if I'd taken the lift.
