The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.

I couldn’t see a thread about this, but I’m just here to share how annoying it is to see a so-called women’s march so concerned with placating men. This is the march in January.

As well as the highly predictable “this is for all women” (meaning including the ones who are men) and the ‘we don’t tolerate transphobia’ (meaning any concept of sex-based oppression), the Facebook group is full of posts reassuring men that of course they’re welcome and it’s not all men and obviously “not my Nigel”. It’s infuriating. Why do people do this?

They do like to make their priorities clear. It's not women.

Do they really think pictures of people in fetish harnesses are appropriate?

See that the fundraising for Edinburgh and Glasgow is very poor. I know the financial climate is tough but if all their members for these cities just put in a pound each then they would have more than enough.

In weirder and weirder news, there is another group whose march appears to be on 17th February for women only called Million Women March. This is causing some confusion, as this little exchange shows and also suggests the Women’s March doesn’t have all its routes in place either

Well I know Edinburgh won't be decided until a couple of days beforehand as that is when the committee is meeting with my objection.
