I literally woke up this morning thinking I had an idea for a Christmas name for @FuzzyPuffling...FuzzyPuffing! It's Christmassy because there's no L.

I should probably just have tried harder to get back to sleep.

😂

AlisonDonut · 04/12/2024 09:02

To be fair that is quite funny.

Thank you AisonDonut Xmas Grin

DeanElderberry · 04/12/2024 10:20

We need to add this to the carol list

DeanElderberry · 04/12/2024 10:31

There is nuffing nuffing, nuffing like a puffling,
Gerbils, gulls and quokkas all agree,
Hear the capybaras wuffling,
and the moose and android gruffling,
as we wait for Beetle to come back for tea

Nuffing, nuffing, nuffling like a puffling

etc - I'm sure others have more poetry in their souls

I think you should have included a line about a snuffling hedgehog

I feel very “exclude” <sulky back thing>

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/12/2024 12:06

When I was a teenager, we lived in a bungalow in the country, and one night I woke my dad up because I was convinced someone was standing in the flowerbed outside my bedroom window - I was too scared to look out myself.

He got a torch and went outside to check, and the 'intruder' turned out to be a hedgehog, snuffling very loudly in the flowerbed, eating slugs, rather than an axe murderer about to come into my room.

Do you think if you managed to suspend a hydrophobic chinchilla above a puddle, they'd spin fast enough that you'd have created a perpetual motion machine?

On a side note, I'm glad I'm not a chinchilla. Only having dust baths sounds kinda itchy...

I think it was Robert A Heinlein who theorised that, as cats always fall on their feet, and toast always lands butter side down, if you strapped a piece of buttered toast to the back of a cat, and dropped it, you'd create a perpetual motion machine.

What about me! Not even a crumb 😁

MyrtleStrumpet · 04/12/2024 12:24

I used the AI to get as many as you in. Apologies, cake, I forgot to include you.

Moose is in hind legs in one image and serving drinks. Sorry I did mention the gerbils.

Errol is either tiny or invisible and they've added a snail inexplicably.

DeanElderberry · 04/12/2024 12:32

There is nuffing nuffing, nuffing like a puffling,
Though hedgehog when she's snuffling,
comes quite near
(she's a dear),
See Degu and Pigeon dancing,
Spartypuss and Donut prancing,
As on one sentiment they all agree

There

Is

Nuffing, nuffing, nuffling like a puffling

nuffing

nuffing at all . . .

DeanElderberry · 04/12/2024 12:39

Oh come, someone write a verse for cake and anyone I've inadvertently snubbed.

Marie should be in there, loads of others too

lcakethereforeIam · 04/12/2024 12:57

Donuts are on the cake spectrum, I'm okay with sharing.

Magpiecomplex · 04/12/2024 13:10

Here's a poem for a cake.

FuzzyPuffling · 04/12/2024 13:19

Judging by the bird on the bar in picture 3, Magpie and I appear to have a secret love child.

Errol is either tiny or invisible and they've added a snail inexplicably.

Although the eponymous Errol was a swamp dragon (small, but not quite that small), there are of course invisible pink dragons and anyone who says there aren't is a heretical bigot.

I've arrived late at the Stockin', there was a power cut and - d'you when you know something intellectually, but it hasn't quite percolated into proper knowing... well, I was surprised that I couldn't get on the internet, although I know perfectly well that wifi needs electricity🙄

And there's so much cleverness to catch up on, you are such a clever lot!

Thank you for mentioning me, Deano, but I think it's my own damn fault for picking a username that doesn't involve fur or feathers.

I'm regretting it as much as I regret my gmail address, which seemed like a great idea at the time, as it's an Irish version of our family name, but of course completely baffles anybody who doesn't speak Irish.

Marie de Gournay seemed like a good idea because I was reading her at the time but it's too human for the Bluestocking, isn't it?
Maybe I should change it to something from the animal kingdom, pref a rodent..
Bunni's short-tailed bandicoot rat for instance- there has to be a username in there somewhere😄

Plus, in AI world, there are invisible beetles, invisible magpies, invisible women (HA!) ....

@MarieDeGournay you could just identify as something?

I thought Marie de Gournay identified as a French philosopher called Marie de Gournay ....

I mean, I don't actually identify as a moose. I just pretend to be one 😃

I've just filled in an online survey which asked
Do you identify as M/F/Non-binary/Other -
I should have written in Bunni's short-tailed bandicoot rat😂
