My mistake, the request came from @Myfluffyblanket who now has a visitor...

I don't know whether to swoon or start to feel an awful lot better ...

ifIwerenotanandroid · 30/11/2024 18:17

😂Do what you gotta do.

Your wish is my command. Sadly my wish is seldom the AI's command, but there we go.

Mmmmmm...yes .

FuzzyPuffling · 30/11/2024 18:20

Proof that I'm old- I'd much rather have a cuddly quokka than a French man.

MarieDeGournay · 30/11/2024 18:24

We're in 'condoms stuffed with walnuts' territory again, but I'm sure the walnuts are the finest noix du Périgord, Appellation d’origine protégée😄

lcakethereforeIam · 30/11/2024 18:27

I went to a French city decades ago. It might have been Bordeaux. I can't really remember. It had a building with half a car hanging out of the 2nd or 3rd storey. I think it was art, but it might have been an accident.

Aren't marathon runners usually a bit stringier rangier than that?

Myfluffyblanket · 30/11/2024 16:40

Please show me a fit French bloke . I like les beaux matelots de Jean Paul Gaultier (sp?) and I'm sick of looking at sats monitors , tinctures , paper handkerchiefs , unguents and tablets . (O2 level improving at 93% so shouldn't complain)

I'd love to but I'd have been a bit rude asking some blokes to pose for me whilst I took photos in front if Mr Donut. But oh my there were some very...ahem...well. anyway.

To do any races in France you need a doctors sign off. So they do all have actual literal certificates saying they are fit.

Chersfrozenface · 01/12/2024 02:12

It's 2.20 a.m. and I'm awake, yet again.

Still, it's an opportunity to make lists and to decide that my Christmas name is OnceInRoy.

DeanElderberry · 01/12/2024 07:05

Do we have to do Christmas names? I always struggle with the how-to, but wouldn't mind being DeanHollyhasaberry.

Or maybe revert to my old cryptic identity and be DeanVolecape again, seasonally appropriate. Presumably it will be a next thread thing anyway..

FuzzyPuffling · 01/12/2024 07:27

I'm not changing my name for Christmas. I'm easily confused.
Technically, I have lost my colourful beak and gone out to sea.

AlisonDonut · 01/12/2024 08:36

I've dropped him off. Bloody heck.

Anyway back in the Airbnb, with some mash potato from the monoprix round the corner so I can make a cooked breakfast with yesterdays left over baguette and mozzarella before I have a long hot bath in peace and quiet. Well, I can hear some sort of drumming session going on, so nearly peace and quiet.

Do you mean pufflings get a colourful beak before they become fully fledged or are you holding onto your inner child ? How long does it take for a puffling to grow up ? And congratulations on surging the gulls

Magpiecomplex · 01/12/2024 09:46

I won't be changing my name, but if I did, I quite fancy the first three words of the Calypso Carol. Although I wouldn't be at all surprised to find it already taken.

Bannedontherun · 01/12/2024 09:56

I have already changed my name once, and now identify as a hedgehog, i would get confused given my age.

I'm a special sort of puffling!

AlisonDonut · 01/12/2024 10:09

Donut don't name change.

CautiousLurker1 · 01/12/2024 10:09

I’ve changed my name once this year already (formerly busymummy) and find I get easily confused as to who regular posters are when the names change. Wish @MNHQ would allow us to reclaim previous/first names so we can revert as needed!

Do you mean if we’ve already posted on that thread in a later name?

I NC often but can use any of my previous names at any time apart from then. As we’re only on page 4/10 I’ll have to keep this seasonal one for a while here.

It does stop people posting under several names and arguing or agreeing with themselves, which I think is a good thing.

SeeHimLying? Not taken at the moment (I used Advanced Search to check).

If the Dean's going to be DeanVolecape, can I be ColonelVolestranglerOpenBracketsMrsCloseBrackets? Or possibly ColonelBatGuano or IfThatReallyIsYourName.

MarieDeGournay · 01/12/2024 10:46

I'm disinclined to change my name - waaaaayyyy too complicated, esp if I want to revert to MdeG which took me ages to decide on - but I'm enjoying your clever carol-related names.

If I was going to join in that particular Reindeer Game, I think I might call myself LouLee..
if it's not already taken.Smile

I'm pretty sure can still use any of your previous names, it's just changing within a thread which is barred now, to prevent sockpuppeting.
So you can have a general purpose one plus some you use for specific topics eg sensitive info.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/12/2024 10:57

Anyway... I've not bothered with seasonal name changes for ages.

I'm not even remotely tempted by the carol-based ones I can think of at the moment such as AwayInAMan or OnceInRoyalDavid

Bannedontherun · 01/12/2024 11:03

I love Once in Royal David city as a hymn

If i were to NC it would be Wenceslas as its such a jolly song.
