Another local authority - Bracknell Forest Borough Council.

'My name is Sarah Holman and I believe single sex facilities are vital for women and that you can’t change sex. I believe I have been discriminated against for having these views.'

It's on crowdjustice.

Thanks for the update - I had missed this until now, but am happy to garden in support.

I am looking forward to the day when this is all unnecessary and organisations stop pretending humans can change sex.

But was she "discriminated against" for the views per se, or was she harassing people non-stop over it and using hateful language etc? Is she a member of an anti-trans stalking community? The way one expresses their views matters.

Garlicnorth · 07/01/2025 11:20

What's an anti-trans stalking community, Chris? Are they like bird-watchers, hiding in bushes with telephoto lenses?

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 07/01/2025 12:42

I expect that the law-case will decide whether she was discriminated against Christinapple. (She would be unlikely to win if she was in the wrong herself and expectations are that she will win.)

Is there an 'anti-trans stalking community'? All the stalkers I've heard of operated alone. Stalkers can be prosecuted of course.

Christinapple · 07/01/2025 13:01

I saw a thread not too long ago where a man with gender critical views was fired from his Council job for putting intentionally nonsense pronouns as his work email signature (even though it was made clear this was entirely optional) and refused to remove them. He then lost his court case and had to pay a fine for vexatious complaints.

It all depends exactly what's happened.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/01/2025 13:09

Yes @Christinapple we know that perfectly well. This judgment does not give Maya Forstater the right to steal your sandwiches from the communal fridge and eat them in front of you, etc etc.

larklane17 · 07/01/2025 13:15

It must be very difficult to stalk someone when you are a community of stalkers.

Person gets on bus.
Fifty others wearing sunglasses and funny hats try to follow.
Curses! Discovered!

Reminiscent of Tom Sharpe's Indecent Exposure. The novel where undercover police pose as terrorists only, eventually, to discover that they were all undercover and there were no terrorists.

In Piemburg Luitenant Verkramp’s efforts to extirpate subversive elements in the body politic were resulting in the appearance of a new and bizarre outbreak of sabotage, this time in the streets of the city. Once again the violence had its origins in the devious nature of the Security chief’s line of communication with his agents. 628461’s “drop” for Thursday was in the Bird Sanctuary. To be precise it was in a garbage can outside the Ostrich Enclosure, a convenient spot from everybody’s point of view because it was a perfectly logical place to drop things into, and just the sort of place for a Security cop disguised as a hobo to get things out of. Every Thursday morning 628461 sauntered through the Bird Sanctuary, bought an icecream from the vendor and wrapped his message in sticky silver paper and deposited it in the garbage can while ostensibly observing the habits of the ostriches. Every Thursday afternoon Security Konstabel van Rooyen, dressed authentically in rags and clutching an empty sherry bottle, arrived at the Bird Sanctuary and peered hopefully into the garbage can only to find it empty. The fact that the message had been deposited and then removed by an intermediary never occurred to anyone. 628461 didn’t know that Konstabel van Rooyen hadn’t collected his message and Konstabel van Rooyen had no idea that agent 628461 even existed. All he knew was that Luitenant Verkramp had told him to collect sticky pieces of ice-cream paper from the bin and there weren’t any. On the Thursday following the Kommandant’s departure, 628461 coded an important message informing Verkramp that he had persuaded the other saboteurs to act in concert for once, with a view to facilitating their arrest while on a job for which they could all be hanged. He had suggested the destruction of the Hluwe Dam which supplied water for all of Piemburg and half Zululand, and, since no one could blow a dam by himself, he had urged that they all take part. Much to his surprise all eleven seconded his proposal and went home to code messages to Verkramp warning him to have his men at the dam on Friday night.

Perhaps Chris has a dead letter drop for Luitenant Verkramp? It's great to see Chris so very keen on matters of interest on FWR.

An apposite time to have a re read of my Tom Sharpe books. That extract gave me a good chuckle.😎

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/01/2025 14:42

Tom Sharpe is an author my granddad (who had a good sense of humour and a dry appreciation of life) liked when I was a child, and I always meant to read, which book would you recommend to start with @larklane17?

FarriersGirl · 07/01/2025 14:47

Just done a bit of gardening🍀

Gosh, a toughie that. Riotous Assembly and Indecent Exposure take the piss out of Apartheid S.A and the police of the day. Rethinking really jogged my memory there. Shades of modern day stickergate scenarios.

There's others like Ancestral Vices and Blott and Wilt about capitalists and corrupt mps. I first read Porterhouse Blue about academia which might be a bit dated now, but quite funny and very like when I did my degrees in ye olden days ha ha.

(I've also added to the Crowndfunder. sorry we've derailed a bit Sarah! )

larklane17 · 07/01/2025 15:23

Sarah has a day to go and is still trying to reach target if anyone is able to help.

Chris thinks that Reduxx is an anti-trans stalking site (this is despite Reduxx’s investigative and well-documented reporting on paedophilic castration fetishists’ infiltration of WPATH’s SOC creation process) so that gives you some idea of the thought process going on there 🤷‍♀️

Sartay · 07/01/2025 15:51

Hi, Sarah again
Just to clarify there are no claims of transphobia. Of course can’t go into details for legal reasons , but my conduct is not in question.

Hi , Crowdjustice will automatically review the dates - I don’t really understand why Crowdjustice do that ! )
But as I don’t have a date yet for the Preliminary Hearing I do have more time to raise funds. ☺️
My lawyer advises me that the tribunal system has a backlog and to be patience.

TiramisuThief · 07/01/2025 16:30

Thank you for the update, have donated

A new community of people has sprung up?
... anti-trans stalking community?

larklane17 · 08/01/2025 14:39

Only in one person's head Enough4me
Another unsubstantiated claim. A poor attempt to disrupt yet another thread supporting a woman who is being victimised for speaking the truth.

Ramblingnamechanger · 07/01/2025 00:20

Sorry I missed this but will support the fundraising. What I don’t see is how the LA talks about toilets as being equivalent to lifts, then men of whatever gender should have no problem in single sex toilets for men. Best of luck .you have a great barrister. But women should not have to go through this. We must all complain, every time. Solidarity, sisters.

Sarah here, agree its a stupid analogy to compare toilets to lifts . I still can’t decide whether Bracknell forests HR Dept actually believe this or if they are just stupid. Very pleased to have a great legal team behind me. Once Naomi gets going she will make mincemeat of the council I’m sure.
Thanks for your support x

That’s a great article, thanks for posting it. The details of how she was treated are really terrible behaviour on the part of the Council’s HR and management staff.

I hope you all enjoyed the article.

Sartay · 17/02/2025 11:44

Sarah here, thanks for all your support on this , it’s very much appreciated. I’ve been watching the Peggie Sandie case and watched Naomi cummingham do her magic….I’m so pleased she on my side.

In terms of my case I’m still waiting for a preliminary hearing date. lawyers have warned me there is a backlog. (Must be all us pesky women fighting to retain our sex based rights 😉). Will keep you updated as things progress.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 17/02/2025 11:45

Hopefully the current shitshow in Fife is giving all the useful idiots pushing this in councils across the country some insight into how the electorate who fund their wages view these predatory behaviours.

Sartay · 09/05/2025 12:13

Hi Sarah Holman here!
Employment Tribunal update. A Preliminary hearing date for my case is now set for 1st December 2025. There is some prep work to be undertaken over the next week, getting further documents over to the tribunal with a further tranche due in mid November.

The decision of the Supreme Court in ‘For Women Scotland‘ applies the clarification of sex from when the Equality Act 2010 came into force. Therefore, it applies to my case and is relevant in terms of the policies applied by Bracknell Forest Council.

I am being ably supported by Elizabeth McGlone and Naomi Cunningham in preparing for the Preliminary hearing and will update again as we get closer to the date. Many thanks again for your support for this case.
