So cute! But I'm honestly bit disturbed by my first reaction to both - a competitive urge to sweep up all the virtual mashmallows and grab the Baileys. MINE! I think I'm going to have to try to quell this raging sweet tooth with a bag of real-life Maltesers I'd managed to resist thus far (for a whole, impressive 24 hours, no less!) This visceral response to AI mugs is suggesting that something's most definitely required right now. I blame work.

😂Well, it is all in the spirit of the cat, that's true. Wafting, then snarfing down some treats, followed by bed with a hot water bottle, and a long walk tomorrow. But unlike proper cats, I do feel a bit guilty for the food part - OTOH, like proper cats, I'm a keen hypocrite, so thank you for making me feel (utterly irrationally) curiously justified in indulging regardless!

Those stauch ally mugs are a bit of a mash up of soviet propaganda, wanted posters and obituaries.

I don't understand why it struggles so much with language when it's so precise (if proper arbitrary) with the images. There was an image around p26 by Android with the words "bluper lody" or similar, and the only association I could think of (maybe I missed something really obvious? did I?) was the "bloofer lady" in Stoker's Dracula. Like, where did that come from?

AI is a complete mystery to me.

@Catiette I know! I had one image that suddenly said 'Hispanic' for no reason whatsoever. Bizarre.

Just now I made some with whatever that word for marshmallows was, & it kept coming up with images of a bowl of marshmallows with water being poured over them. The only explanation I can think of is that I asked for a gerbil waiter running with a bowl - maybe the AI decided I couldn't spell & was asking for running water. It's too clever for its own good sometimes.

It's fascinating. I'd love to understand more... but then I worry that even the best AI pros don't get it either, fully. I noticed the Hispanic one. Enjoyed it... but how utterly bizarre. It's like a fever dream. It certainly puts a whole new complexion on our most frightening visions of the future. I mean, the Terminator would probably have a jellybean head and be firing kittens, Westworld populated with white-hatted hamsters, and the Minority Report busy insisting that all dachshunds be hunted down as prospective pineapple murderers. 🤷

I'm definitely hoping that the Bluestocking-based requests are skewing the AI's learning process in just that way.😂These threads won't be helping scrapers, either.
