NHS Fife tries to silence nurse

1000 replies

Hoardasurass · 13/10/2024 09:36

So as has been mentioned on threads about the Darlington nurses a nurse is sueing NHS Fife over its trans staff policy.
The poor nurse was forced to get changed infront of a man in the female changing facilities, when she complained about it she was 1st told to change in a cupboard if she didn't like it, then they tried to bully her into swapping shifts so she didn't work with the man in question (she wouldn't), then they wanted her to move hospital (again she refused) so then they suspended her without pay for months until her solicitor got involved and now they are trying to gag her by insisting that the court case (starts in February) must be held in secret (I wonder why) and will be in crt next month asking to restrict reporting on the case.

This case is really important in Scotland because the trans staff policy that's going on trial in this case is the Scottish government's own policy used in all public sector organisations in Scotland and works on self id. So when this case is won it will finally kill the Scottish government's self id policy in all public bodies

Does the Dr have a GRC does anyone know?
Baroness Nicholson took the BMA to task and said he hadn't. And even if he had, he still won't have changed sex.

Did the judge need to ask what was meant by 'deadname'? Surely formername would be factual?
The BMA could get round their false record by stating Theodore Upton, a.k.a Elizabeth. And adding - sex - male, gender (if different) - female. Then we would all know exactly where we were, and those who didn't mind a TW doctor could happily agree to be treated by him/her/them.

JR asked the J if he knew what it was, and he confirmed that he and the other two panel members were aware.

Despite this assurance, she continued to explain it though.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 03/02/2025 11:51

Bundle bungling memories?

LipbalmOrKnickers · 03/02/2025 11:51

I remember the need for a ready reckoner at one point!

I wonder if he'll give evidence, or pull a Wadhwa and avoid the witness box like the plague??

Surely, if the tribunal is to be believed, the ‘former’ Theodore has evolved beyond recognition into the allegedly female Beth. You’d think the now fragrant Beth would be showing their metamorphosis off. Sort of proof ‘you would never have known Beth was ‘formerly’ male. That the women in the changing room would never know ‘she’ was ‘once’ male.

I don’t know why ‘Beth’ would be acting so shy and coy now. Unlike in an enclosed space like the women’s changing room.

What has happened to the sound?

🎶 Misty water coloured bundles...🎶

bumbledenbarsk · 03/02/2025 11:53

Shhh! Stop saying 'bundle'!

JR whispering was all we needed. 🙄

Peregrina · 03/02/2025 11:54

JR just pointing out that people change their names all the time including when they get married. I don't consider my maiden name to be a deadname.

I was thinking exactly the same. Some people will still know you by your old name. If there are times when you need to say, send in exam certificates held under a different name, then you would send in a copy of your marriage certificate or deed poll paperwork to prove that the two names belong to one and the same person. But this sort of mess is what the TWAW brigade have got themselves into, and We Mus Pander to Them.

Ooh, shenanigans. Someone using the name Forstater has applied for remote access but as a witness Maya Forstater is forbidden from watching witness testimony. NC assured the tribunal that MF has taken steps to remain in the dark about the witness testimony before she provides hers.

Peregrina · 03/02/2025 11:57

Could someone explain what adding to the bundle means?

Adding to the evidence that the tribunal will consider

nauticant · 03/02/2025 11:58

The bundle is an agreed collection of documents organised in an agreed way. The tribunal and the lawyers have their own copy. If a document is added to the bundle, everyone gets to put it in the same place so the bundles all remain in sync.

I think Maya has just applied for access so she can watch after she has given evidence but NC confirmed that she wouldn't attempt to log in until after her evidence.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 03/02/2025 11:58

Adding to the sheaf of evidence, witness statements, submissions, etc.

Not just that. Only evidence in the bundle or said in court is considered - if not in the bundle or discussed the court then it won’t be taken into consideration.

Chrysanthemum5 · 03/02/2025 12:00

They don't even have a cup for the witness to drink water from so I'm not holding out hope that they will manage to sort the sound issues

Signalbox · 03/02/2025 12:02

Sandie Peggie is very succinct.

Chrysanthemum5 · 03/02/2025 12:03

I just can't hear her - only occasional words

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 03/02/2025 12:03

The sound really is awful.

ILikeDungs · 03/02/2025 12:04

She says very little, and I hear only 10% of that!

LipbalmOrKnickers · 03/02/2025 12:05

SP being brief and clear (even if the sound isn't!)
