En franglais, in English .... open to all women for company, fun and fabulous artworks. Leave unwanted reality in the porch and come along in.

The most terrifying thing the AI does is give opposable thumbs to things that shouldn't have them.

That and the meat cocktail.

lcakethereforeIam · 26/09/2024 09:52

And random microphones! Why?

Boiledbeetle · 26/09/2024 10:28

The AI likes what the AI likes!

I bet they're singing
🎶How are things in Quokka-morra...🎶

FuzzyPuffling · 26/09/2024 10:34

"Quokka's love got to do with it?"

DeanElderberry · 26/09/2024 10:35

The rate of evolution there, and the toleration of culinary atrocity, any minute now they're going to invent Dublin coddle.

lcakethereforeIam · 26/09/2024 10:38

Dancing to the quokkadile rock 🎶

DeanElderberry · 26/09/2024 10:38

Thank you for the sensitivity screen.

(That probably tastes quite nice but looks awful)

lcakethereforeIam · 26/09/2024 11:02

Served hot with soda bread and butter it'd probably be quite nice.

Unless...is that sparp?

DeanElderberry · 26/09/2024 11:10

My Uncle Charlie, a very dear man who came into the family when he married my aunt, used to make it every week, using a milk-based rather than a beer-based stock which must have looked even worse, and assured me it was delicious, but I never tried doing it myself.

I note after googling that many people photographing it it for online display brown the sausages, which looks more attractive but which Charlie would have condemned as inauthentic. Take away the spuds and tweak the veg a bit and it's convincingly medieval if not full Hiberno-Norse.

Swap the spuds for some sort of turnip/swede/neep?

Even those are fairly 'new' vegetables (as are orange carrots). There might have been some kind of cabbage stalks, and there'd certainly have been barley/oats or dumplings.

quantumbutterfly · 26/09/2024 12:17

I'm not catching on to this new bluestocking menu, I can see how it would appeal to hipsters though. You could use some trigger words like authentic and ethnic to lure them in and get the local dentist to sponsor the stoneground bread.

I'll be in the corner with a gravy soaked roast and a stash of snowballs.

Chersfrozenface · 26/09/2024 12:18

Thin pottage, eaten by medieval peasants, would contain, according to availability, cabbage, leeks, onions and garlic and various legumes.

I don't do medieval reenactment but I have friends that do.

Its the online menu with photos in the hope people will look and go "naaaah! Let's try somewhere else!"

It seems to be working. I'm always surprised that the Bluey trends in FWR yet we get so few new members. Well done everyone for putting them off!

To illustrate this concept, I asked the AI for "Bluestocking pub guarded by fierce women & quokkas". The results were not quite what I had in mind. 😂Still, plenty there for any cosplay enthusiasts to get their teeth into. Sewing machines out!

Those are some seriously fierce quokkas!

ifIwerenotanandroid · 26/09/2024 12:55

Yeah, I wouldn't cross them!

We'd need to add 'foraged' ingredients. There's probably all sorts of plants in the Bluestocking's grounds which a peasant would have seized on to add some diversity to her otherwise rather dull diet. Can we assume that if the goats will eat it then it'd be ok for human consumption?Confused

Magpiecomplex · 26/09/2024 12:58

"Artisanal" would be another good word. And plenty of wild garlic.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 26/09/2024 13:01

So then I tried "Bluestocking pub guarded by awfully nice women & quokkas"...

The second one has a nice Australian feel to it, & I'd love to know what an AROTERP is. The third one is something else, though. Where the heck did AI get all that from? The Arking of Attur Sapinisings??? And what appears to say 'ethnically ambiguous' in AI-ese???

I thought goats were reputed to steal the washing off your line & eat it. That's a no from me to the idea of stewed socks.

Gotta get 'sourdough' in there somewhere. 'Free sourdough starters (92 years old)' maybe.

I've got a feeling that "fierce" is a word appropriated by drag queens, and those images in the AI would back this up. This one is "fierce queen"
