Employment Tribunal Case to Protect Single-Sex Facilities at Work

Dear Mumsnet Members,

I have issued an employment tribunal complaint against NHS England to protect single-sex facilities at work.

A preliminary hearing will be held in early October 2024. I would be very grateful for some urgent gardening support at CrowdJustice. I won't add a link here as it is against Mumsnet rules.

It would be interesting to hear other people's views on legislation around single-sex facilities at WORK. However, I won't be commenting much on this public forum whilst the case is on-going.

Yours faithfully,
Faye Russell-Caldicott / FayeRC

Just seen on Twitter/X that Naomi Cunningham will be representing Faye - which is excellent news!

thebastardsgotme · 19/09/2024 18:22

Excellent news indeed

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/09/2024 18:28

Brilliant!

FayeRC · 19/09/2024 18:38

We made it! £4,900 carrots, so that covers the costs of a preliminary hearing.

Thank you to all of you who have cultivated this awesome harvest crop.

This takes me to the next stage, which is 70k stretch target for full court costs. If I don't get anonymity at the preliminary hearing, any remaining carrots will go to a similar case which seeks to protect women's single-sex facilities or services.

Thank you 💜

Great to see this type of gardening going on, never thought i'd be joining MN!
I've got a glut of tomatoes so have added them.

Well done and thanks to the OP for taking action.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 19/09/2024 19:42

Good news that the first tranche of money's there. And a real boost to know that Naomi Cunningham is on it! Fingers crossed for anonymity and hopefully we'll be helping you to the next stretch target.

Hi all,

very pleased to announce that I'll be represented by solicitor Elizabeth McGlone from didlaw and Naomi Cunningham, barrister from Outer Temple. I feel like the case will be in good hands.

Finally managed it! For whatever reason, I wasn't getting a one time code to my phone.

Your case is in excellent hands.

SinnerBoy · 20/09/2024 11:27

Naomi Cunningham - oh dear, I almost feel sorry for the opposition! It could end up resembling Mike Tyson vs Sister Wendy...

kittylion2 · 20/09/2024 11:35

Just done a tiny bit of digging - good luck. 🤞

GoogleWhacking · 21/09/2024 08:31

Just dug!!

anyolddinosaur · 21/09/2024 10:44

Just a note of caution - employment tribunals dont like granting anonymity. I'm happy to dig deep for this if it does.

Not2identifying · 25/09/2024 10:25

I really hope you are granted anonymity. This is such an important case. I'll be happy to donate again if it goes further.

Projectme · 25/09/2024 10:27

Just done a bit of gardening.

Thank you. thank you so much for what you're doing.

FayeRC · 16/10/2024 15:01

Dear All,

We’ve had our first preliminary hearing now. The judge allowed us to make some amendments to the claims but has listed another preliminary hearing in February 2025 to decide on the remaining outstanding matters, such as a list of issues and anonymity application. I’m now raising funds for the the legal fees to cover next steps in the process, such as my disability status, requests for further information and costs of another preliminary hearing. I would be grateful, if you could please share with your contacts the map to the allotment site and sow some seeds. Thank you!

Another couple of carrots planted. Good luck OP.

YellowRoom · 16/10/2024 15:15

Thank you for the update. More gardening to be done

FayeRC · 17/10/2024 17:44

The thought of making a disability statement is quite daunting. I've spent well over a decade trying not to think about it, which is a PTSD symptom. Not that PTSD respects that boundary! Now I need to verbalise intense feelings to a bunch of random people.

I hope you have plenty of support, OP. This must be very difficult, you have all my sympathies.

Pleasealexa · 17/10/2024 19:05

Gardening done. Thank you for doing this

FarriersGirl · 17/10/2024 22:03

Well done so far. I know this is hard but you also have real courage. Will be dropping off some carrots tomorrow!

YellowRoom · 17/10/2024 22:10

That's really shit - having to make yourself so vulnerable to stand up for something you believe in x
