Employment Tribunal Case to Protect Single-Sex Facilities at Work

Dear Mumsnet Members,

I have issued an employment tribunal complaint against NHS England to protect single-sex facilities at work.

A preliminary hearing will be held in early October 2024. I would be very grateful for some urgent gardening support at CrowdJustice. I won't add a link here as it is against Mumsnet rules.

It would be interesting to hear other people's views on legislation around single-sex facilities at WORK. However, I won't be commenting much on this public forum whilst the case is on-going.

Yours faithfully,
Faye Russell-Caldicott / FayeRC

Freed up a few more quid to donate again - this issue desperately needs to be resolved for women’s safety and dignity.

ArabellaScott · 18/09/2024 15:19

£650 to go.

FarriersGirl · 18/09/2024 16:27

Have done a little digging this afternoon!

FayeRC · 18/09/2024 16:50

It's exciting that tonight could be the last day of campaigning for the preliminary hearing costs and we might be good to go soon.

With 17 days to go, the fundraising window stretches into a 'pay day' period, so I'm pretty sure there will be more donations coming nearer the end of the month.

169 pledges now. So good to see grass roots support like this.

Over 85% now,

FayeRC · 18/09/2024 19:45

88% of harvest carrots have been lifted for the fast approaching prel hearing, so just a bit more needed.

@AutumnCrow This campaign has a stretch target of 70k and the court case is likely to take a long time. The initial target is to cover the first stage, which is a preliminary hearing in early Oct.

Good luck!

anyolddinosaur · 18/09/2024 21:41

£4,355 so just a few hundreds to go.

AgathaMystery · 18/09/2024 21:44

@FayeRC you are really, really brave. NHSE is a massive beast to take on. I have done some gardening for you.

FayeRC · 19/09/2024 08:15

90% of autumnal harvest lifted and stored now but we could really do with a few mange touts.

'Protect Single-Sex Facilities at Work' at the usual allotment site.

@AgathaMystery Shitting it tbh, taking my current employer to court, who does that, I think to myself in the dark hours of the night! But they did wrong, so here we are.

My seed trays are planted for the month but I'll be back on the allotment again in a couple of weeks.

I will be delighted if someone can get the NHS bang to rights. NHS is riddled with gender-woo that makes life worse for women, from Annexe B of the guidance on single-sex wards (which totally fucks things up for female patients and makes it impossible for female patients to complain or for staff to protect them) to NHS management's neglect of the needs of their female staff.

The law is a mess on single-sex spaces, women are supposed to have a right to single-sex spaces but there's confusion between sex and gender and the government refuses to clarify the Equality Act to sort it out. But as (Jo Phoenix has pointed out in another thread) gender-critical protected belief discrimination cases have a high success rate so here's hoping!

I massively admire your courage and I wish you strength and all the success you deserve!

(Anyone else wanting to plant, google "Protect Single-Sex Facilities at Work" to find the garden.)

SinnerBoy · 19/09/2024 10:48

Is anyone else having trouble paying? It's time out twice for me, waiting for a verification code.

This did happen to me a few days ago, but then it worked ok a couple of days later.

anyolddinosaur · 19/09/2024 11:29

When I have trouble it's sometimes my internet service provider. I have cards from 2 places so can try a second one if the first does not work. Trying again a few hours later may work, if not wait a day.

FayeRC · 19/09/2024 12:02

anyolddinosaur · 19/09/2024 13:33

Almost at 95% now - can anyone find a fiver to make it to 95?

HandShoe · 19/09/2024 14:01

ThatsNeat · 19/09/2024 14:47
