Electric still off so I'm boiling hot water for a toddy on top of the woodstove. Boily, you need to come inside, you'll catch your death. It's not worth it for another few coppers.

The weather makes me think that mulled wine season is approaching.

Ive just seen the gravy bowser go past and I can hear Sunday roast prep sounds coming from the Bluestocking kitchens.

I can't smell anything cooking, but that's probably down to the cold I caught last night sitting on damp floors after my hours of hanging around in flooded off limits areas of the pub!

Hint - they are horses. I don't know if it's just one stable or if it's now the Done Thing in horseracing in general, but there are quite a few horses called things like Alfred Tennyson and Percy Shelley, leading to very odd headlines!
