Terfy poems in audio book form would be fantastic.

EdenPalmersNasalPiercing · 26/04/2024 23:47

The less popular uni in Brum
Did some stuff that was really quite dumb
They scraped conversations
Till Justine’s Alsatians
Bit them quite hard on the bum.

LittleTealElephant · 27/04/2024 00:06

MIDNIGHT POEM
I wandered lonely as a terf
Who changed her name from thread to thread
Distracted when her writing flowed
Forgot to take herself to bed

EdenPalmersNasalPiercing · 27/04/2024 00:07

Eden Palmer and Nicci Mcleod
On transphobia were really quite loud.
Till they put on Eventbrite
Some “TERFS are all BAD” shite
Surprise! Oh, it pissed off the crowd!

IcakethereforeIam · 27/04/2024 00:14

Who'd have thought, and it's a pity,
A place of learning, a university
Would demonstrate it's no utopia
By accusing Mumsnet of transphobia
The bastards are really quite shitty!

AnnaSewell · 27/04/2024 07:34

Late to this. Is someone live tweeting?

SinnerBoy · 27/04/2024 07:47

No, it's been cancelled.

AnnaSewell · 27/04/2024 08:32

Ah, thanks. I looked on the Aston Uni website - as well as Eventbrite - and couldn't find it. No time right now to read long threads in search of info, but was there any statement from Aston? Any info about the researcher who was going to give the talk?

Interested in how talks like this impact on gender critical female students at Aston.

@NewNameIRL , those last four lines: 'odd big dot too / but what / the hell / good oh', got me thinking more deeply about style. If one posted only in simple, monosyllabic words, would that hinder the scrapers' poster-identifying process more effectively?

eg: So, as one does, I went to look and found this site which I thought might help: https://www.liveabout.com/one-syllable-word-writing-exercise-examples-1277745

In it, the author says that a YouTuber analysed one of Donald Trump's 2015 pre-election tweets and found that 172 of the 220 words (ie 78%) were only one syllable. Do you think that if we all deliberately upped our monosyllables to that percentage or even much higher, we might stand a chance of the AIFL's (or any other people scraping here's) research reaching the conclusion that FWR had been invaded by Trump - a highly confusing outcome😁? Thinking outside the (sand)box here.

That would be fun to see.

DrSoupDragonsFriend · 27/04/2024 09:35

Yes, it would. Why had I not thought of this last week?

Chersfrozenface · 27/04/2024 09:38

Could we not sprinkle in the odd covfefe?

The quotations from Mr Dodgson will have helped with this.

And I might start not correcting my many typis.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/04/2024 09:40

I expect they basically think that anyway.

IcakethereforeIam · 27/04/2024 09:55

I think typos/misspellings can help id a writer's style.

DrTWETMIRF · 27/04/2024 10:17

Trump being pro women's rights would be an interesting interpretation

I am not Trump, I am Spartacus

DrSoupDragonsFriend · 27/04/2024 10:47

It's interesting thinking up and applying consistent idiosyncrasies for each name: a little list of rules covering syntax, grammar, spelling, favourite words, and punctuation for each identity. Then occasionally you can break your rules, double-bluff the system, and inject a random mistake. Or if you're bored just run your draft text through a randomly chosen AI summariser:-

The speaker discusses using a small list of rules for each name, covering syntax, grammar, spelling, words, and punctuation, and occasionally breaking them to inject a random mistake. They also mention using an AI summariser for a more engaging experience. [Bit meta: AI summarising using AI!]

Problem is, my multiple-personalities are starting to stack up and there's a danger I'll forget who is who. I might need to construct a database (in a notebook, disguised as something else, kept under lock and key, and stored somewhere hard to find). 😀

RainWithSunnySpells · 27/04/2024 11:06

I thought that I would try a paraphrasing tool on one of my old posts.

Original post:

'Then I had a frisson of excitement that felt like having found a way to bypass open channels of communication with the French resistance.'

Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once...

'Think of ChatGPT and how totally correct and sense-making its output isn't.'

So true. I have far more to do with AI generated content than I would like and the bollocks it comes up with is quite stunning.

What the paraphrasing tool came up with (😂):

' also I had a titillation of excitement that felt like havingset up a way to bypassopenchannels of communication with the French resistance.'

hearveritablyprecisely, I shall say this onlyformerly.

Think of ChatGPT and how completelycorrect and sense- making its affair isn't.'

Sotrue. I've far further to do with AI generated content than I would like and the bollocks it comes up with is relativelystunning

DrSoupDragonsFriend · 27/04/2024 11:14

😂
And there's a lot of potential for new usernames contained in that revision as well!

AirGappedServerScrapings · 27/04/2024 11:25

Now I have a vision of Trump attempting to play John Finnemore's 'Words of One Syllable' game and seeing how long he can get away with it.
