Source on the numbers on that please. A real source.

On what? She mentioned several things there.

I don't have time to look at the posts of all the people who've quoted me.

But the problem with all your transphobic flapping is that you're imagining all these situations and people from other cultural backgrounds being limited etc. etc. And that's all they actually are - imaginary people and situations. They aren't actual reality, you're pretending to be on the side of theoretical situations of theoretical people and none of it bears any resemblance to anything that's actually happened, it just sounds like it might be plausible.

I'm yet to actually meet any woman who refuses to be in a space with ANY men or trans people because they've been raped or had some other kind of bad experience. And I know a lot of people who have been raped or sexually assaulted.

And that's the real privilege here - that you're making up plausible situations that other people could theoretically be involved in when you actually have no clue and none of these things have actually happened.

She’s so fucking untouchable and I love it 🙌🏼🙌🏼

This. She's brilliant, brave and witty with it.

Time was you had a better class of TRA coming in here when this was all fields! These days they’re barely even trying

I don't think anyone actually cares whether spaces are "women only" or not. Do I care if there's a convicted rapist in my space, yes - it's irrelevant what their sex or gender is, it's the fact they're a convicted rapist. Stopping trans people from using the same public sink space as me doesn't help me if there's a lesbian sex offender in there.

It's just something else for people to rage about so they can feel sanctimonious and be distracted from their own shitshow lives.

I care whether the space is single-sex. I cried when Newcastle lost its single-sex turkish baths because I don't feel safe in mixed saunas and can't go topless. I've since moved away to better job markets. I'm not kidding when I say that the women-only turkish baths sessions were the only reason I had for staying in the North East.

Over 95% of sex offenders are male. I reduce my chance of being sexually assaulted by 95% and guarantee that an assailant can't leave me pregnant by entering a single-sex space.

I've been sexually assaulted by a transwoman.

Are you looking for the opinions of women who've been raped, or is it just women who agree with you whom you want to hear from?

Who had 'I don't have time' in the TRA sweep?

VitoCorleoneOfMNMafia · 01/04/2024 16:50

@ArabellaScott Flowers

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2024 16:52

I had "have to ice a cake".

Artesia · 01/04/2024 16:52

Yeah you big old meanies, just stop your flapping

But seriously @potato57 - you seriously want to make this a discussion about reality, not make believe? If so, how about we start with the men who want to play dress up, and to co-opt us all into their make believe?

TWETMIRF · 01/04/2024 16:52

Sorry to hear that Arabella.

To reiterate, I would have nothing to fear from her if I encountered her in a public toilet.

Nobody is actually disputing women can be sexual predators too. They generally work in conjunction with men, though. And their numbers are far fewer.

Urgh. Talk about minimising sexual predators behaviour. 🤮
Not to mention so fucking patronising and infantalising too.
"The men made me do it" and " there's not as many women who do it, there's far fewer" 🙄
Oh that's alright then! 🙄

Hi, I'm Vito, displeased to meet you. I was sexually assaulted at the age of eight in a mixed school changing room and I refuse to use unisex changing rooms and toilets, bar for completely self-contained ones, because I don't want a repeat of that experience.

Quitely ignoring the point about just how rare female sexual offending is, I see.

BackToLurk · 01/04/2024 16:55

I wonder if people like potato go through life constantly baffled that some spaces and services are separated by sex? "Why?" They cry into the darkness "what reason is there for this? "

Understanding patterns of offending isn't minimising anything

Given the polling contradicts that, I simply don't believe you. I expect those women just don't tell you. And it's not just because I'm a rape survivor that I don't want men in women only spaces. It's because men in my spaces violate my privacy and dignity, too. I don't want either nasty or nice men in women only spaces, for any reason.

No one has ever answered when I ask them if they are in favour of mixed sex boxing.
It almost as if they know there is really a difference between men and women.

Part of me wonders if some posters get a kick out of posting things like that is to make women relive their traumatic experiences.
