I ❤️ JKR

Me too ❤️

crunchermuncher · 01/04/2024 17:03

Constantly surprised by how few of the 'anti women's spaces' people seem to be able to understand percentages, probability and risk.

"Some people are injured in car crashes even when they wear seat belts you know"

I have had to clean my hands up next to a trans woman at the next sink after dealing with heavy periods. It was humiliating and embarrassing and I wondered how a young girl would have coped. But hey, he was affirmed so that's OK then.

JKR is a superstar.

Unbelievable! Er, I care!

You don't count, potato is talking about the important people. You know, the ones who put the penis first in everything they think and do?

lifeturnsonadime · 01/04/2024 17:04

'Transphobic flapping'.

The misogyny is strong with this one.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2024 17:05

Part of me wonders if some posters get a kick out of posting things like that is to make women relive their traumatic experiences.

It's definitely a thing for some men, as a phenomenon. Not speculating on the gender identity of that particular poster, to be clear.

I don't have time to look at the posts of all the people who've quoted me.

But the problem with all your transphobic flapping is that you're imagining all these situations and people from other cultural backgrounds being limited etc. etc. And that's all they actually are - imaginary people and situations. They aren't actual reality, you're pretending to be on the side of theoretical situations of theoretical people and none of it bears any resemblance to anything that's actually happened, it just sounds like it might be plausible.

I'm yet to actually meet any woman who refuses to be in a space with ANY men or trans people because they've been raped or had some other kind of bad experience. And I know a lot of people who have been raped or sexually assaulted.

And that's the real privilege here - that you're making up plausible situations that other people could theoretically be involved in when you actually have no clue and none of these things have actually happened.

It's not being in any space that women have a issue with, although some probably do, I know I'm at the point where I don't even want to be alone in a room with a doctor if he's a man. It's being in women only spaces. And I don't want to be in a women only space with a man. Any man no matter what he thinks in his head, or what clothes he's wearing.

A transwoman, and a man, they are the same thing to me: an adult human male

Yours

A victim of rape as a child by a man who was already a convicted murderer.

Will that satisfy you?

And I may as well add in my doctor as well.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/anthony-bland-gp-with-26-000-child-abuse-images-is-struck-off-xlk35w99v

Is my level of trauma enough for you to accept that I may not wish to share women only spaces with men, no matter how they identify? Not that a woman should have to have suffered any trauma at all for her "NO I DO NOT CONSENT TO A MAN IN A WOMAN'S SPACE" to be enough.

This had been joyous to watch as it unfolds. When you see how many people support her now there is awareness of this as opposed to say a year ago, it's so very satisfying and we owe her big time.
I've spoken to more and more women about this lately and each one is more and more angry about the way in which women are being subjected to this.
Thank you JKR you have also have a hugely appreciative fan base that doesn't operate on social media.

Waitwhat23 · 01/04/2024 17:09

I can't describe the depths of my gratitude for JKR. She's speaking for all of us in Scotland who are affected by the chilling effect of the HCB. It's genuinely quite inspiring - her 'have run out of fucks attitude' is immensely cheering for those of us in despair at the hellscape Scotland has become.

Waitwhat23 · 01/04/2024 17:10

Oh Boiled, I'm so sorry x

Egggg · 01/04/2024 17:11

JKR is a modern day hero for women. She's absolutely wonderful.

One day there will be statues of her!

Can i just say that WRNScotland's X /twitter page is a thing of beauty today. Photo after photo of strong, brave women proudly holding up various posters stating the truth and the facts, on display, up and down the country. Well done 👏

dapsnotplimsolls · 01/04/2024 17:14

<seriously considers spoiling ballot paper by voting for JKR>

It has been inspiring today - WRN's all over the country (Scotland and the rUK) have been standing up.

Courage calls to courage.

Blimey 😁

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2024 17:15

Perhaps you should read Boiled's post before you take the piss out of her, given how concerned you were about sexual assaults earlier @GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2024 17:16

Wouldn't want you to look insincere or anything.

BoiledBeetle I am so sorry.

absolutely disgusted that some MRAs are
trolling this board to minimise the feelings of actual rape survivors. Predictable male
pattern aggression in action. As per, as per.

I got the last laugh, the bastard died in prison!

Karensalright · 01/04/2024 17:23

@ArabellaScott @Boiledbeetle your sharing of personal information is very important and i deeply respect you both for it. Having worked in DV and SV for a very long time i can. Say with conviction that the vast majority of women do not want to share spaces with men, end of.

Boiledbeetle · 01/04/2024 16:45

You'll have to take it from me, and biology,

100% of transwomen are men!

It is, quite literally, the one and only factor needed to qualify as a transwoman.
