Oh Humpty,we're all laughing at you.

MrsCarson · 01/04/2024 16:05

JKR the legend.

CatChant · 01/04/2024 16:09

The one and only JKR.

May her shadow never grow less.

Worriedtothemaxx · 01/04/2024 16:10

She's hilarious but honestly I equally now feel absolutely full of rage after reading that. It's so fucking ridiculous we even need to do this. 10/10 to JK as per.

Best Ricky Gervaise voice.
when the emperor is seen with her winkie out, you bigot !

Lol!!! Sorry!!

potato57 · 01/04/2024 16:21

I don't think anyone actually cares whether spaces are "women only" or not. Do I care if there's a convicted rapist in my space, yes - it's irrelevant what their sex or gender is, it's the fact they're a convicted rapist. Stopping trans people from using the same public sink space as me doesn't help me if there's a lesbian sex offender in there.

It's just something else for people to rage about so they can feel sanctimonious and be distracted from their own shitshow lives.

@potato57
I care.

Thank God they carry signs or we'd never know!

Projection. Why do we have women only spaces, and why do you think only some men should be allowed into them?

BiscuitTins · 01/04/2024 16:25

Mollyollydolly · 01/04/2024 12:40

I admire how she puts herself in the firing line. How can they go for poorer women without her power and influence? She's protecting them. I know she makes a joke of it, but it's actually incredibly moving.

This, all day long
She brings sunlight, but also draws the fire.
Totally amazing

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2024 16:25

It's considerably more likely you will be sharing a space with a rapist when there is even one man in it.

lifeturnsonadime · 01/04/2024 16:26

Wrong.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2024 16:26

The Scottish government is expected to include this later in a separate misogyny law.

Sure they are.

It's pretty ridiculous to shite on about convicted rapists and not caring what sex they are. I have no fear of sexual assault from other women.
Your post is nonsensical from start to finish.

well I care about privacy, dignity and safety for myself and all women who want spaces without males and you don't get to give away those rights without the consent of ALL women who will be affected.

Runningupthecurtains · 01/04/2024 16:27

It's always the sinks/ toilet cubicles that are used as an argument as to why it doesn't matter. Never DV shelters, hospital wards or rugby scrums. No idea why 🤔

Mochudubh · 01/04/2024 16:28

What about unconvicted rapists?

You do know that Ghislaine Maxwell stripped girls down and got involved in the massaging and beyond, right?

Artesia · 01/04/2024 16:30

@potato57 - lucky you to be privileged enough not to care about such things.

Obviously women only spaces aren't a universal panacea, but given the overwhelming majority of sex offences are carried out by men, it's a good start.

And maybe spare a thought for women who, for religious or cultural reasons, can't be in a state of undress around men (however they choose to dress, or refer to themselves). Should these women's lives be limited in order to allow men more freedoms?

RapidOnsetGenderCritic · 01/04/2024 16:31

Just don’t pretend men are women,@potato57. And bring back the old social contract where it was expected that men would keep out of women’s spaces unless they were unashamed predators.

Pinana · 01/04/2024 16:31

I was waiting all morning for this post and age didn't disappoint! What an absolute QUEEN! I'm so grateful to her for shining a light on this nonsense, and standing up for the rights of women and children.

I'm from a middle eastern background and these women's lives are already limited. By their own families. By not being allowed to leave the house without their husbands. By being given endless work at home so they stay there. It's not some random trans person in a public toilet that's stopping them living their lives, it doesn't even get to that stage.

Hedjwitch · 01/04/2024 16:33

Lots of people reporting Hamza Yousuf for his infamous " white" speech as a hate crime. You can do it online...

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/04/2024 16:33

This isn't about Ghislaine Maxwell, and it's not just about safety. Males commit 98% of sex crimes, not female people. It's also a question of the privacy and dignity of women and girls (and men and boys who don't always want their spaces invaded by female people). You are an outlier, according to polls most women in the country don't want intact males in women's spaces. Hope that clears it up, potato, given you seem to wonder why anyone cares. They point is that they do care.
