And those who say they don't care, don't get to override our consent.

This. As long as one woman or girl wants female-only spaces, the rest of us should defend them. Single-sex spaces are not a matter for majority vote, they are a matter for "blackballing" as the Freemasons call it and any woman or girl, anywhere, vetoing men coming in means that men stay out.

Police Scotland said it had not received any complaints over the posts.

Try turning it off and on again.

I have so far only got to this post on the thread and just wished to say - Chapeau

Oaktree55 · 01/04/2024 19:13

What is the intended outcome of this? Apparently not prosecution but compilation of lists which can be accessed by employers etc. Anyone know??

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 01/04/2024 19:13

"The monitors" 🙄
Why is there always some conspiracy theory to some all seeing, all lurking, unknown entity if posts are deleted if they break the guidelines?
See "there is no transphobia here, if there was it'd be deleted!"
Or "personal attacks aren't acceptable, report it!"
Then when they do go, it's a big conspiracy or silencing. 🙄

whynotwhatknot · 01/04/2024 19:13

i saw tis earlier an retweeted

makes me laugh get arrested for hate speech but carry a swatika at a palestinian rally and thats fine

SloaneStreetVandal · 01/04/2024 19:14

Hopefully this is the hill the SNP finally perishes on. They got away with quietly shelving the OBAF law, and the ridiculous named person scheme. They're going to find it far more difficult to sweep the ensuing chaos from this one under the rug.

ChishiyaBat · 01/04/2024 19:15

Peace and love to all you wonderful women who have been through so much and are still here fighting❤️. Thank you for speaking up for us all!

I see they are looking for any excuse to pull this thread huh!

JKR gets my grateful thanks and my full admiration. She could so easily live her life in a blissful peaceful bubble where she could ignore this madness. Instead she bravely stands up for women and girls and is not afraid to point out the truth even when speaking the truth now puts her at risk of breaking Scottish Law. Thank you JK. Your words have never been so important to fight this.

Agreed. Thank you JKR.

I think essentially criminalising anyone who disagrees with the SNP is the ultimate desired outcome.

Morwenscapacioussleeves · 01/04/2024 19:16

The prisons data shows clearly that men who identify as transwomen are MORE likely to be violent bastards than other men. Therefore why oh why oh why would we let this statistically more dangerous group into women's spaces & keep the less dangerous ones out???

single sex spaces are safer for women & girls

I would assume the outcome is to silence dissent.

Runningupthecurtains · 01/04/2024 16:24

I don't think anyone actually cares whether spaces are "women only" or not.
@potato57
I care.

I care too.

They? Who's "they"?

The unspecified sinister "monitors".

It's easy to avoid a thread being pulled. No personal attacks, no troll hunting, and no transphobia. Since the first two are very clear in the guidelines, and since there's none of the latter on MN, this should be no problem right?

Ah no its fine though, scotgov are looking at laws to better protect women. So we can all rest easy, eh.

For those of you who have disclosed very personal information, this thread is now appearing in “trending”.

And now disappeared from Trending. And not showing up in active (that I can see).

ResisterRex · 01/04/2024 19:19

Grey rock people. Keep the thread alive

Yeah but poor scotgov are getting stuck because they can't work out how to describe the group of people they call women.

I mean you'd think they'd had enough practice at producing legislation without definitions but maybe it just takes longer?

Arconialiving · 01/04/2024 19:26

Lanore · 01/04/2024 18:12

Have never understood how, in a country where less that 1% of rapes result in a conviction, the police have time to arrest women for saying things that might hurt men’s feelings.

It’s almost like the police think physical violence against women is less important than validating egotistical men.

Sadly so true.

SpringLobelia · 01/04/2024 19:28

'Sooner or later, Harry we must face the choice between what is right, and what is easy'.

The Goblet of Fire. (film)

The politico cowards who bow to the noisy have made their choice. Looking at you SNP, Labour Party and others.

Yes. It is possible that Hanlon's razor is in operation and they've accidentally made a law that has resulted in an opposition MSP having a recorded 'hate incident' on his file for criticising government policy.

But it seems quite a shocking way to accidentally stray into very, very dodgy territory.

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 01/04/2024 19:29

ChishiyaBat · 01/04/2024 19:18

HQ who else?

Why would MN be looking for any excuse to pull a thread (that's getting lots of action and engagement) therefore good for them?
That makes no sense.
