Employers seem to be slow learners when it comes to women's rights! There’s another employment tribunal case being brought by a woman who attended and took the microphone at a Let Women Speak event in Belfast last year and has been treated very badly by her employer Belfast Film Festival as a result.

Looks like we’re going to have to keep gardening until they get the message.

I imagine it is a bit of a gut punch to be asked a question that brings the cognitive dissonance required by this ideology into plain view...

I suspect a lot of 'trans allies' are TERFs when it comes to personal stuff like this. It's much easier to give away other people's rights and dismiss concerns of groups such as NHS nurses or rape victims if you don't imagine yourself ever being in that situation. Much harder when it's your actual young daughter...

MD is presenting herself as all nicey-nicey and concerned about SM, but the corrosive effect of genderwoo means that even if - IF - she actually cared about SM's wellbeing, there was no place for SM in BFF because SM believes in biology.

MD's need for a break at that point is interesting - obvs I can't see what's going on but I wonder if she is upset because she realises the excellent NC is painting her into a corner, and if she is using the mention o f her daughter as an excuse to display distress and have a break?
Very cynical of me, and based only on transcripts, so maybe unfair to MD.
But some of her evidence has been disingenuous and strangely combative towards NC herself.
