nauticant · 22/01/2024 14:57

Roz Adams was employed by Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) as a counsellor. She is claiming constructive dismissal for Gener Critical (GC) beliefs. The CEO of ERCC is a well known transwoman known for, among other things, controversial "reframe your trauma" remarks.

There's live tweeting from https://twitter.com/tribunaltweets or if Twitter doesn't show the tweets, look at https://nitter.net/tribunaltweets. There's an informative substack here: https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/adams-vs-edinburgh-rape-crisis-centre

And all they have to throw at Rachel is her asking a clarifying question on behalf of a service user. That is it. Her crime. Wrong think and fighting for brutalised women.

JanuaryJunipers · 22/01/2024 16:14

Roz Adams teaches Non Violent Communication. I have been to one of her workshops, she's an amazing woman. I really really admire her stance on this. It takes a lot of courage to actually point out that the Emperor has no clothes on these days.

NecessaryScene · 22/01/2024 16:14

I wonder if that was a consideration in the ERCC's choice of who they wanted on the stand? Two women with a "trans" child.

Basically a kind of hostage situation?

Are they deliberately employing women in such situations?

Poinsettiasarevile · 22/01/2024 16:15

But her email to AB was LITERAL VIOLENCE

Datun · 22/01/2024 16:15

They will employ anyone who says they are a woman, no matter what they look like, as long as their passport says they are.

Did NC get to point out to the panel exactly how easy is to change your passport?

I'm sure it's going to come as news to so many people.

Datun · 22/01/2024 16:16

I know it's common sense, but honest to God, you shouldn't be able to change your passport, or your drivers license, unless you have a GRC.

And you shouldn't be able to get a GRC, obvs.

ickky · 22/01/2024 16:16

@Datun Unfortunately she didn't. I was waiting for her to clarify the ease of achieving this proof of identity.

pronounsbundlebundle · 22/01/2024 15:51

NC is wonderful.

Back in!

So to be clear, you can't talk about sex, but you can talk about gender - isn't that direct discrimination against those who believe in sex and not gender identity?

And you definitely can't have a conversation to clarify which you mean?

They seem to think talking about biological reality is worse than actual rape. Which makes them not really fit for purpose.

Boom!!!

Gotcha.

That's the case in a nutshell.

Poinsettiasarevile · 22/01/2024 16:19

Or your NHS sex marker. I have a friend treating a trans ided female. Secind fracture in 6 months. They had new nhs number, and were recorded as male. She was worried about osteoporosis due to puberty blockersand x sex hormones, but could not raise that with the patient. Sent a note to GP hoping they would highlight.

PronounssheRa · 22/01/2024 16:19

Rainbowshit · 22/01/2024 16:05

These people are just absolutely off their trolley aren't they? How can you say that someone who is both biologically and legally male is actually a biological woman?!?🙈🙈🙈

If your job or relationship with your trans child depends on it, i guess some people will say or do anything

RedToothBrush · 22/01/2024 16:20

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/01/2024 15:51

I know KM slightly. She has a NB adult child. Casts a particular light on some of her responses.

I wonder if that was a consideration in the ERCC's choice of who they wanted on the stand? Two women with a "trans" child.

Perfectly normal that.

How many staff does this organisation have? Two have NB identifying children, one is trans and one is NB.

In terms of representation of the general population and population levels of trans identity just how 'out there' is this?

It's certainly not coincidence.

How can it be argued this ISN'T a Trojan Horse' organisation which centres it's aims on its staffs beliefs and not it's users?

similarminimer · 22/01/2024 16:21

I honestly don't understand what the ERCS understands by woman only. To use approved language, we have learnt that

AFAB cis = woman
AFAB NB= woman

AMAB trans = woman

So what about
AFAB trans - are they women?

AMAB NB - are they women?
AMAB cis - surely to god, they are not also women?

quite probably.

My favourite bit of today was when NC asked the witness if DH said he was a woman but changed nothing else about himself (or maybe just wore woman's clothes) would she believe he was a woman and she said, in a very small voice, yes.

pronounsbundlebundle · 22/01/2024 16:22

Maybe 'woman' just means 'human' now?

I am on a small crusade to have MW's Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mridul_Wadhwa rewritten to not be one sided. There is currently no mention of any criticisms at all. If anyone has the power and interest to help rewrite it please do, it's a bin fire and the first thing people see with a MW google search.

Good luck with that. The Transcult seems to have an army of people manning (no pun intended) Wikipedia at all times to instantly change anything they don't like.

At least Edinburgh has JK who has personally funded a Rape Crisis Centre solely for WOMEN.

Rightsraptor · 22/01/2024 16:26

@Poinsettiasarevile - does your friend know about CAN-SG, which is a network of all sorts of healthcare workers who are concerned about the impacts gender ideology? Get her to Google it.

lechiffre55 · 22/01/2024 16:34

Stand outs for me today.

Gender is recognised by ERCC biological sex is not.
Examples : They will discuss the gender of staff but not their sex. A service user may express a preference for the gender of staff who support them but not biological sex. All questions about sex from NC were deflected by the witness today. Sex is a protected characteristic of the Equality Act 2010. By wilfully ignoring sex in favour of gender how can they be compliant with the Equality Act ?

If the quote here is good "KT good worker. Didn't have an opinion on her being transphobic though I know her views were different from the org." It implies very heavily that the org has an org wide 'view' that constitues an undocumented/unofficial policy. The policy stems directly from ERCC's prioritization of gender over biological sex even though sex is the characteristic protected by the Equality Act.
RA's protected beliefs ( Forstater ) in sex contravened this org wide policy. RA was subject to a hostile work environment and disciplinary action for not believing in, and adhering to, this unofficial policy with no basis in law.
This is constructive dismissal of RA.

And when NC started on that line, there was a man's voice from the court feed - which I assume was DH - saying, resignedly, I know where this is going...
