Roz Adams was employed by Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) as a counsellor. She is claiming constructive dismissal for Gener Critical (GC) beliefs. The CEO of ERCC is a well known transwoman known for, among other things, controversial "reframe your trauma" remarks.

NC in writing email RA told no one anything they didn't already know.

KT she made assumptions re AB which may or may not be accurate, so possible.

NC are you saying until RA wrote email some people might have been wholly in dark as to whether AB male or female.

KT no idea. If possible. But it was the impact on another member of staff that made us act.

IT couldn't be more bias if it tried, very one sided. Yes protected now, though anyone with a half decent Wiki account can now make changes. Staggering that it's the first thing people see if they google the name.

This Thread is giving me some much needed sanity and a few laughs (thanks to the brilliant NC). I have been in a hospital since Friday and of course the doctors and nurses know the sex of their patients and are treating them accordingly. It is extremely important patients get as much dignity and respect under the challenging conditions of a busy hospital. One of the scraps of comfort you can still have when not being able to get out of a hospital bed, is your personal care to be done by a woman. It makes you feel so much better to be clean and fresh and toileting (whilst in bed) is a major factor too. It is vital for everyone to be reality based.
If there was a dr giving me or a family member important medical diagnoses and investigations, if that dr is pretending to be the opposite sex or truly thought they were the opposite sex, (and everyone around was pretending too) then how can you trust them about anything when you are so vulnerable?

Why is MW not in the witness list? Seems to be a vital part of the picture will be completely missed out?!

They have to say things that make no sense as their whole belief system makes no sense. Its based entirely on belief.

To these people, its the act of believing that is important, not what the belief is grounded in.

I think the most damming thing is that she is the only staff member called as a witness and her role was only note taking - so none of the people making the decisions are there to defend those decisions

1. Sex is irrelevant, gender identity/history is top secret and must be respected but never referred to.

2. there are no circumstances, no woman, no matter how traumatised can be supported in a female only environment. (Would love to know what happens to the women who need this).

3. The gender beliefs of the service providers at all times and in all cases trump the needs of service users

4. They will employ anyone who says they are a woman, no matter what they look like, as long as their passport says they are.

Your point is such a good one - how can anyone trust a doctor who is willing to try and coercively control you over such a basic fact as sex - and how can you trust a rape counsellor who does the same?

The answer is you can't. If they refuse to accept you're talking about biological sex when you quite clearly mean that and they try and force you to comply with their (batshit) beliefs, you cannot trust a single thing they say and must assume that anything they do may be with intent to force you to comply.

They will employ anyone who says they are a woman, no matter what they look like, as long as their passport says they are.

Plus people who say they're not women, as long as their passport says they're a woman (I think) - but it's gross misconduct (and violent) if you point out that they're women.
