If you look at exactly what happened that such an enormous fuss is bring made of, the amount of effort spent on these people is utterly and completely ridiculous.

GCITC · 19/01/2024 15:29

We wait with baited breath to hear the worst thing Roz wrote in an email

MarieDeGournay · 19/01/2024 15:30

I'm going to put an automatic reply saying only send emails with pictures of kittens everything to do with my actual job triggers me.
Brill - made me laugh out loud😂

I knew I should have checked which bated it was

GCITC · 19/01/2024 15:31

And MR can't tell us the worst thing Roz wrote in an email. "It's the whole thing"

Boiledbeetle · 19/01/2024 15:31

Oops that last feedback on the sound may have been me!

Signalbox · 19/01/2024 15:31

I love NC's cross examination style. She's so calm and polite but completely unrelenting in pursuing the point.

Mmmnotsure · 19/01/2024 15:31

NC: Considerate and humble response to AB?

MR: No

NC: Is email bullying?

MR: Email was followed by a long email RA had sent to Katie which she knew would cause hurt and upset to AB. [This email was attached to the one to AB]

NC: What was worst bit

MR: Whole email is wrong cos AB didn't want to be included in conversation and had found previous emails humiliating.

NC: So you are declining my invite to id the most toxic/hurtful part of that email?

MR: I can read it.

NC: Please do.

[Pause. Drumroll]

MR: The email in its entirely was hurtful to AB and it is difficult to pick out most toxic line from it. [Declined, then] Especially in context of AB's explicit wish to be uninvolved.

Sisterpita · 19/01/2024 15:32

@Brefugee I would hope AB has been given support as part of their duty of care. Often employers have an EAP which gives access to counselling.

Brefugee · 19/01/2024 15:32

to be fair. When stalkers stalk and we complain to the police/courts - the answer often comes back with "well it was only a couple of emails/letters/visits" but we know it was stalkerly behaviour.

Is this the defence? that email contact and being mentioned on slack is a pattern of bullying and harassment? Is there any chance that the ET will agree?

Brefugee · 19/01/2024 15:32

I am NOT saying this is what i think. I am wondering if it's a defence tactic

Just think of the additional number of women currently on waiting lists, who would get support if we just accepted that only females are female and only females should deal with other females if they've been raped if money wasn't being pissed up the wall trying to pretend men are women.

LarkLane · 19/01/2024 15:33

I've just finished a tin of E.T watcher support Twiglets. Feeling kinda Marmitey along with very pissed off with this witness.

Hedgehogdetective · 19/01/2024 15:33

I hope this is the beginning of the end for MW. When they “counselled” me it wasn’t a positive experience. I was never told MW was trans. I have posted before about how MW yawned and looked at their phone during my “sessions”. I think MW has a huge ego and gets off on power plays. Loves attention too. Their role as a manager of a rape crisis centre should surely involve raising awareness of rape and issues around it, instead the focus is on trans women and migrants. If you are passionate about equality then get a job in equality. Your current job is about violence against women. And if you aren’t happy that your service is used mainly by “cis white middle class women” then don’t work in a country which has a majority white population? Or do you only want minorities to use your service because you don’t think white “cis” women are the right kind of victims of rape? MW is simply not a nice person.

Chrysanthemum5 · 19/01/2024 15:34

So sorry about your experience @Hedgehogdetective 💐

Mmmnotsure · 19/01/2024 15:35

NC: AB wrote - Your email was humiliating. I feel humiliated. Don't want to have any conversations with this about you.

NC: A brutal slap down to RA.

NC: Any disciplinary procedure against AB for bullying claimant.

MR: Not aware.

NC: Double standards. AB could slap her down and no criticism.

MR: AB had said no discussions c their name change. This was their response to the situation, inc that an email was sent to others about the situation.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 19/01/2024 15:35

I've said it before, @Hedgehogdetective but I'm sorry you had to experience that lack of care Flowers

Froodwithatowel · 19/01/2024 15:35

'Safe space'.

For whom? At what cost to others? How is this justifiable?

I could go for twiglets, I've eaten to much popcorn! I need savoury

pronounsbundlebundle · 19/01/2024 15:35

Am I allowed to say that I don't want to be involved in something to do with my job because I find it upsetting? Surely revealing your sex to a service user counts as doing your job in this context?

Is it only me that wonders how AB could counsel a rape victim who might mention biological sex?

If they find discussion of their name humiliating and upsetting how can they function in a job? Surely it's humiliating and upsetting for service users to have their needs (after having been raped) put so far below the needs of someone who's changed their name and finds mention of their previous name triggering, somehow.

Froodwithatowel · 19/01/2024 15:36

NC needs a 'double standards' card she can just raise at intervals to save time.

pronounsbundlebundle · 19/01/2024 15:37

Just catching up as had to do 2 school runs. Thank goddess double standards is finally mentioned.

Walk on eggshells around AB (who clearly doesn't give a shit about service users)

Harass RA (who clearly cares a lot about everyone and is trying to balance needs)

And somehow DARVO so that the opposite is true

Madcats · 19/01/2024 15:38

Chrysanthemum5 · 19/01/2024 15:24

I think the witness is a board member not staff?

Yes MR is a fairly new Board member, who is a fundraiser for a theatre as a day job (and worked with the Board there). She was appointed to the Board of ERCC in June 2022.

Are DBS checks 'humiliating'?

You literally need to be asked about your previous names as part of safeguarding protocols.

Anyone who refuses to discuss this, is a walking red flag.

Chrysanthemum5 · 19/01/2024 15:40

June 2022 is when they took on a lot of new trustees I think - they seemed to have a number of trustees leaving around that time
