I'm sure he'd have agreed with Dawn Butler, MP for Brent, in her characterisation of mumsnetters. She's merely following in the footsteps of her predecessors in parliament, if she sees women advocating for the protection of children as the enemy.

Well, it looks like we are free for Christmas! Unless they are planning a coordinated midnight raid!

Thoughts and prayers to all those that will now have to cook Christmas dinner instead!

Of course you could always pretend to be arrested, pack all your favourite nibbles in a bag and book yourself into a hotel for the next 48 hours!

Now I just have to find my DVD of its a wonderful life ready for tomorrow. I'm fairly sure it's with the Christmas music CDs that I like to annoy the neighbours with, unfortunately they aren't where they are supposed to be!! I shouldn't have left looking until the last minute but I wasnt expecting to still be free!!

I did however amuse myself when putting out the cats' dinner (cod and plaice sachet) by singing 'whoop whoop it's da sound of da plaice'. I don't think they found it was funny as I did.

Their minds were on higher things this Christmas Eve, contemplating the piece of cod that passeth all understanding.

I don't yet think we've got away with it. They're just waiting for Christmas be over: we've done all the shopping, food prep & cooking, entertained the inlaws, cleaned up, washed the bedding... then they'll swoop.

We will enter the dangerous period after 28th December.

I thought my imminent arrest would get me out of the mince pie making (tip: marzipan tops burn in the oven. They taste nice but they don’t look great) but here I still am.
