@WarriorN when I was little we used to say

Red sky at night, shepherds fight
Red sky in the morning, shepherds yawning

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 23/12/2023 09:16

No rozzers here either...

Blimey, you don't do things by halves! I'd be happy with some hooch brewed up from raisins and bread, in a fire extinguisher!

Waitwhat23 · 23/12/2023 09:24

As an aside, there is a Weetabix thread going on at the moment which I fear may turn soon, if the dreaded recipe is mentioned -

www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4968080-please-answer-a-serious-question

No rozzers here. Would be worth it for the reaction on the street.

SinnerBoy · 23/12/2023 09:26

Have the tunnels got names?

Tess, Daisy and Harriet?

Giggorata · 23/12/2023 09:34

I'm not sure that I could get over a vaulting horse nowadays - could we dig the tunnel under some astroturf and a naice garden bench?

SenseFromThoughtDivide · 23/12/2023 09:37

Tip of the day. When digging a tunnel you can always hide the dirt from it in another tunnel dug for that purpose

(why yes! Porridge was on the tv recently )

I think I'm pretty safe as seeing any police around here is akin to a once in a lifetime spotting of a very rare species indeed. Even Amazon Delivery drivers can't locate me so I don't hold out much hope for the police.

Quick everyone round here, we'll be safe while we plan our next move - if you can find me that is.

SirChenjins · 23/12/2023 09:46

Nothing here either - I was giving them time to cross the Scottish border but so far nothing. Am I safe to unpack my overnight bag and put the file back in the shed?

Here we are. 'Netted up' means going crazy inside. Obviously 'mumsnetted up' means the opposite.

https://prisonwriters.com/prison-slang/

I was thinking that if we all ID as Mumgender and insist on being housed with other Mumgender people they might have to build a whole new prison for us. Then we could probably get some input on the decor and furnishings.

Edited

At least if we were all locked up inside, we'd be away from the politicians who've completely lost the plot outside.

SirChenjins · 23/12/2023 10:00

Shall I post on Site Stuff and ask MN to get onto the Met for an update? We’re all very busy women and this is holding up the proceedings. DH has asked if he’s going to be safe to do his 4pm Christmas Eve dash to the shops tomorrow for everyone’s presents and I don’t know what to tell him.

That’s what happened in the real Great Escape. They were emptying the dirt discreetly into the yard but still got caught occasionally. Then the tunnel Dick became unusable because its exit was in a spot that was cleared, so they put the dirt from Harry into Dick. Problem solved!

A names thread on Mumsnet?
You'll be meddling with forces you can't control...well that's Mumsnet generally tbf

TWETMIRF · 23/12/2023 10:26

I have my Sainsbury's delivery this morning and my new telly delivery is at the same time. If the police try to arrive then do you think they could help with the unloading and putting away?

TWETMIRF · 23/12/2023 10:27

One of the tunnels needs to be called Balonz

LarkLane · 23/12/2023 10:34

Great idea SirChenjins I think that the mods would appreciate the reminder!

So far this morning:
I've dropped off presents. Made half a trifle. Finished grouting the bathroom.Caught up on the Sewing Bee Christmas challenge. Eaten the remains of the Quality Street. Put up a big neon arrow outside the house pointing to the front door to aid the Dawn Patrol in gaining entry. 😇(Last sentence may be a fib)
Still no bizzies.

Gutted. I may have to host eight people over Christmas after all, they are due tomorrow. Curses wot a chiz!
<Sad face for Daily Mail. pic>

Perhaps I should book a slot with the Met? Like Ocado. Say, between 4 and 6pm or will that bollox up the shift pattern?

HoneyButterPopcorn · 23/12/2023 10:35

Hahah I’m off to the farm. We are off a road which is unnamed and off another. road that delivery people can never find anyway.

Shame I'm away really, as at home I live opposite the police station, and I have an adult human female postcard in my window, facing said station.

Left half of the bowl, or right half? Idiots enquiring minds want to know!
