I notice that a lot of people see Mumsnet as a single entity - a sort of multi-headed hydra in which the thousands of different women all share the same opinion. There's a screenshot going round Twitter at moment of an offensive post someone wrote on Mumsnet about SEND children, and this is presented as evidence of Mumsnet being fascist, bigoted etc (the usual).
It's as if they have difficulty grasping that lots of people post on Mumsnet, and they have different views. These people would never dream of screenshotting a tweet and claiming that it represents the views of a monolith called Twitter (or X).
It's very telling about the way women are seen - not as individuals with their own opinions but as a single shrieking monster.
