Yes, but not recently enough that I can remember much more about it than Ralph Bates played Dr Jekyll and they had a very attractive woman playing Sister Hyde. To be honest, if they actually remade that with Eddie in both roles it might've worked, although the whole concept would be probably be considered deeply transphobic these days.

I don't understand how anyone thinks this could be a good film? The audience will spend the whole time focused on the dissonance of the male character everyone calls "she" rather than the actual film?

Yet again I am left with the feeling that women are being trolled. Mocked.

Yesterday I told DH there is to be a new film of Jekyll and Hyde with those characters reimagined as women and said ‘Who did you think is going to play the roles?’ He had some good suggestions including Jodie Comer, Olivia Colman… When I told him who’s been cast he closed his eyes and shook his head. What a great opportunity this could have been for one of the many excellent female actors we have in the UK. But no. Must let a man do it.

I don’t think it will matter whether the Jekyll/Hyde characters are supposed to be men, women or my left bollock with a smiley face drawn on, (thank you Malcom Tucker) Eddie Izzard only has the acting ability to play Eddie Izzard.

It's a Hammer Horror so can't imagine they're expecting a big box office smash anyway - more a B-movie that gets a flurry of publicity for its USP then is largely forgotten, a silly twist on an old tale.
