Women Won't Wheesht Aberdeen

Is anyone else going on Sunday?
It's at 1pm in Duthie Park.

I'm driving up from Glasgow and picking up a friend in Arbroath on the way.
I'm reliant on Sat Nav so if anyone knows cheap/free places to park nearby that'd be great.

The alternative could be a crowdfunded civil case against the alleged perpetrator.

It's absolutely shocking that that should even be an option. The Police action here is beyond disgraceful and may constitute misfeasance in a public office, in my opinion. This is because of their minimising the assault on a middle aged, disabled woman, by a young man and lying about her, saying that she was uninjured.

What a terrible state of affairs, Aberdeen Police have effectively told women that they are not safe from assault in the city and that the Police will take no action if they are assaulted.

Mochudubh · 26/07/2023 08:45

I must have arrived about the same time as @TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening as I went to the wrong bit of the park first, so I missed what happened, unfortunately. Otherwise I'd gladly give a statement.

Bad news for Police Scotland. Turns out there are Women Lawyers in Scotland. They have questions....

This is going to blow back big time.

Next policy release from the SNP:

Women definitely can't be lawyers.

(And NICE ones wouldn't want to.)

The women of MBM each deserve a medal - they have been superb on this issue over many years. We're very lucky to have them up here.

DerekFaker · 26/07/2023 14:16

Oh look, it's only Maggie Chapman from the Scottish Greens hanging out with the organiser of the protest.

Are Police Scotland going to be walked up to actually doing their job?

stealtheatingtunnocks · 27/07/2023 08:47

“Feminist campaigner@ and not “anti trans campaigner”? That’s progress

Lets hope so or at least take policing demos in future more seriously.

The times article shows people are taking this more seriously.

Great article on Stonewall and Starmer/ Labour's gender problems also mentions the outrageous Aberdeen attack. Interesting exploration by Nina Welsch of the roots of the violence, a comparison to spoilt children who as we know can get violent, then turn into aggressive men:

"The comparison of gender activists’ behaviour to that of spoilt toddlers is not a new one. Antifa wannabes who show up at Let Women Speak events to scream them down have long been dubbed “Black Pampers” by gender critical feminists. Whilst there is catharsis here, it’s almost easy to forget these aren’t children, though. It wasn’t rambunctious little boys who kicked down the railings at Let Women Speak in New Zealand and punched an elderly woman in the face in March — it was aggressive men with dangerous capacity to harm and injure. This April, when I personally was forced to walk through a crowd of about seventy screaming protestors to attend a meeting at an Edinburgh public library, where we calmly discussed gender identity theory in the school curriculum, it wasn’t (just) stroppy teenage girls screeching “Nazi” and “TERF” directly at me. It was grown women, a good few of them mothers. As I write this, a woman has been assaulted by a man at a Women Won’t Wheesht rally in Aberdeen, left with a black eye, bruised arm and indefinite trauma. Meanwhile, there is the behaviour of MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle, whose intimidating body language towards Duffield during a Westminster debate made headlines; or Kate Osborne MP, who only this week claimed it was “a disgrace” that a Tory MP encouraged people to read Helen Joyce’s acclaimed book Trans to better understand the ideology’s problems. It is not equal to the conduct of deeply stunted, entitled protestors, but it does enable their cause. "

Just like the police with Sarah Jane Baker.

I didn't pick up on that, but yes.

Wont hold my breath waiting for the Guardian to say this! Or even report it.

TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening · 27/07/2023 16:25

I'll definitely be at Falkirk next month, and I'm hoping to make Skye too, (then LWS in London in November).
I won't wheesht.

Just noticed that "assaulted" is not in inverted commas in the headline. Good.

IcakethereforeIam · 28/07/2023 10:22

In Scotland women can be beaten and robbed in daylight, in public and on camera and the police will do nothing! Bloody hell!

stealtheatingtunnocks · 28/07/2023 10:42

This is part of police Scotland and our justice systems poor record on women.

they won’t help us if we are punched, murdered or violated after we are dead.

ArabeIIaScott · 28/07/2023 10:43

Especially not if the men committing violence are under 25.

334bu · 28/07/2023 11:12

Unlike other reports. The Herald reports the aggressor to be a man. 56 year old woman attacked by 36 year old man is very different from 26 year old individual. Moreover, great to see this on the front page with story continuing inside the paper.

fiftyandfat · 28/07/2023 11:55

And if your rapist is under 25 they get away with it.
