Women Won't Wheesht Aberdeen

Is anyone else going on Sunday?
It's at 1pm in Duthie Park.

I'm driving up from Glasgow and picking up a friend in Arbroath on the way.
I'm reliant on Sat Nav so if anyone knows cheap/free places to park nearby that'd be great.

Apparently the TRA's were describing their anti-woman rally before hand as a "Trans Wrath" event online no wonder it featured violence:

See poster here:

Along with a poster reference to the rally being attended by Dante from the Demon and Witch Hunting computer games series "Devil May Cry":

This is all the more disgusting when one remembers that Aberdeen was a notorious centre for witch trials. Dozens of women were strangled and burned in Aberdeen after trials at the Toolbooth for made up fantasy witch crimes invented by the male religious authorities. Four hundred years later we get people fantasising about being a character that gets to kill witches, they go to a women's right's demo and guess what a woman is attacked! If I were superstitious I would be wondering if these scumbags were channelling the spirits of the old witchunters somehow, their fanatical hatred of women and bigotry is identical.

The Devil May Cry witch enemy can be seen here:
https://devilmaycry.fandom.com/wiki/Witch

Well centuries of violence and misogynistic fantasies are not going to be enough to stop the witches this time.

Women who know their rights have been around for a long time too :

"On the night of 7 April 1913 the turf of Duthie Park was damaged with the words ‘Release Mrs Pankhurst’ cut into the grass just in front of the Palmhouse. According to reports in the newspapers, the letters measured around 12 feet by 3 feet. The slogan ‘Votes for Women’ was painted on the door of the Palmhouse in black paint."

Thanks.

I could barely hear the arseholes, the WWW PA system was far better😁 They eventually ran out of steam and resorted to playing Cher. I hope the Police arrest the TRA and at the very least give them a caution.

Poor fucking Cher, what did she do to deserve that fate?

Waitwhat23 · 23/07/2023 17:22

At the same event, signs promoting violence against women were held up. It's a running theme.

The TRA's are commenting under that photo saying 'we mean nerf guns, you melt!' (aye right) but seem unable to show any kind of sympathy/empathy/consideration/acknowledgement that a woman was actually attacked at that event.

The irony of the left-most BLOKE holding a sign to tell women what we should be concerned about. We'll decide that for ourselves, mate.

I suppose it's because she has a trans child who she obviously loves and wants to support. If I remember correctly Chas came out as a lesbian in the 80s when that would have taken a lot of guts, particularly in the US. I don't know what pressure Chas must have felt to think they wanted to identify as male.

I guess it's at one with the thinking that trans is somehow better than gay. I'm guessing because I genuinely don't get that mindset. I can't imagine being so homophobic that I would drug and mutilate my child just so I could pretend they weren't gay.

None of that is a criticism of Cher by the way, Chas was an adult and free to make their own decisions. I'm sure Cher just wants her child to be happy.

Froodwithatowel · 23/07/2023 19:28

'Trans wrath'.

Ffs about what exactly? Other people having rights too?

Can't keep up with the artistes with trans kids. Yes, guess that's about right.
Whether Cher would want to be associated with men who readily assault women, well there's a Q.

Detailed account of what happened from the women who was assaulted:

"I am still travelling home from Aberdeen I am in the car in a great deal of pain, my arm neck and eye.
The person who punched me twice ran over to us from about 500 yard they stole our big www sign as I tried to get it back he swung round with both hands, holding the sign.
And smashed me in the face, my glasses were knocked clean off my face with such force. I was then punched in the arm. I had arrived with the others just 5 mins beforehand, and we completely ignored them. Yet this person thinks that theft and violence are acceptable. Shameful."

This was all recorded and filmed. Footage with the Police along with a statement.

Horrific. Hope she makes a full recovery.

Froodwithatowel · 23/07/2023 21:05

I hope she's on her way to casualty, facial injuries can be worse than they first feel or look.

Waitwhat23 · 23/07/2023 21:12

Someone has made this in response to the events of today

Women Won't Wheesht Aberdeen
RealityFan · 23/07/2023 21:19

Remind me again how many GC women have assaulted any TRAs, indeed anyone?

No prizes for guessing right.

LoopyGremlin · 23/07/2023 21:32

How awful. Hope the victim is ok and the police charge the perpetrator.

334bu · 23/07/2023 21:52

Hope her assailant is arrested.

Statement from Women Won't Wheesht on the Event in Aberdeen. They won't be silenced.

https://twitter.com/WWWheesht/status/1683259046504157187

Official statement from the Alba party condemning the attack and calling for Free Speech:

https://www.denisefindlay.org/post/solidarity-with-women-won-t-wheesht-statement-by-the-alba-party

We should be demanding similar statements from SNP, Scottish Labour, Tories and especially the Scottish Greens who had a party member directly implicated in setting up the "Trans Wrath" anti-woman rally which led to the violence.

If you are in Scotland write to your MSP and ask them to condemn the attack. Contact the Press. Don't forget to link it to the London rally and its advocation of violence from a convicted criminal.

women shouldn’t have to brave violent men to speak

I’m grateful and admiring that the women of Aberdeen are prepared to

Police have issued a statement on the violence which has been covered in the Scottish Press The National:
https://www.thenational.scot/news/23675807.police-scotland-issue-statement-assault-aberdeen-protest/

“On Sunday, 23 July, 2023, officers were in attendance during an organised protest in the Duthie Park area of Aberdeen.

“We were made aware of an assault of a 54-year-old woman during the event and an individual, aged 26, has received a recorded police warning in connection with the incident.

“There were no reports of any injuries and the protest later ended with no further issues.”

No mention of the call for Trans Wrath in The National coverage which tries to both sides the issue again.

Police issue statement after 'assault' at gender critical protest in Aberdeen

POLICE have issued a statement after an assault of a gender critical protester at a Women Won’t Wheesht event in Scotland ...

Except there were injuries, and this was a major failure on the part of the police in policing the event.

Pretty clear the Police are underplaying the issue. Wonder if this is due to people on the ground or higher up.

Lets hope they review what happened with the video evidence and take action. If they don't then more protests.

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 24/07/2023 14:41

I don't understand how he was only issued a warning?
It seems a total failure of policing.
Surely they will have to follow this up.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 24/07/2023 14:46

A warning? For an assault which was recorded?

It annoyed me how cynical all this has made me. My subcsoncious is muttering “oh, you’re trans? In that case do whatever you like all of the time” and I don’t even know if the attacker is trans or not.

fromorbit · 24/07/2023 15:33

Great reply to Police Scotland's statement:

https://twitter.com/WWWheesht/status/1683479391760687105

The cover up isn't going to work this time.

I hope the assault goes viral on social media. Embarrassing the living fuck out of the establishment seems the only thing left when they no longer have a conscience.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 24/07/2023 15:58

Yes, Frood.

BlackForestCake · 24/07/2023 19:12

I am concerned the police may "lose" the video evidence they were given.

It sounds like there is another copy of the film from Women Won't Wheesht's statement today and they are going to release it when they are ready.

The victim is not happy at the Police not contacting her today:
