But was the man with the offensive weapon a TRA or one of Posie's supporters? I suspect it was Garden Rake Guy from the TRA side.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/05/2023 02:12

The reporting in the Birmingham Mail is so fucking biased and inaccurate it is off the charts.

The headline gives the impression the arrested man was "anti trans" ie part of the women's event. Awful.

That headline reading that way is not an accident.

I saw some tweets stirring up against a LWS guy, with a white beard, who they said was carrying a collapsible baton. I believe it was a telescopic pole for his banner but who knows how the Police would see if they think twaw.

Helleofabore · 18/05/2023 09:03

I shall be writing to that Birmingham news site. They need to correct the site to not have the rally listed as ‘anti-trans’. This is false and it will start appearing more often in news services here in the UK.

The 'anti-trans' tag needs unpacking.

If women wanting rights and equality is 'anti-trans' then 'pro-trans' cannot be justified as something good for women, is it?

Let's have that conversation.

Should female people lose their equality of access, their recognition and protections in law to give more freedom of self expression and choice to male people? Because it's male people, not trans. It's only the male ones who have the clash with women's rights.

And how is this not sex based and in fact male supremacism? That someone with a male body should have greater rights and primacy over the interests and needs of someone with a female body?

And why does this political movement have such a very serious problem with permitting the equality and inclusion of females to be provided for alongside their services? Because women want answers that work for everyone. This political movement insists that women must lose and only that defeat of women and seeing their loss will do.

How is this even basically acceptable?

IcakethereforeIam · 18/05/2023 09:11

Yes, that's the picture I saw. I suppose it's a question of interpretation and intent. I see a collapsible pole for a banner. I suppose it could be used to hit someone but so could any of the things that were used as banner poles, like the fucking great set of oars the tras had. Unlike the LWS attendees, no-one on the tra side were actually assaulted.

BezMills · 18/05/2023 09:28

We have established that it's not access to the facilities that certain TW want, it's access to the validation provided by the women therein. So even if you go 'okay you can have the word women, you can have the women's changing room, we'll just go over here and do ciswoman stuff on our own' - that wouldn't be enough. They'd be all like TW are Cis Women, you're being horrid and exclusionary.

Well, if that is the case, that makes it very easy to remove many of the protestors next time at Hyde Park!

Thanks so much for pointing this out!

If a telescopic pole is a weapon, then the umbrellas being used to poke women as described, but also to intimidate as we have seen in so many videos now, are most definitely weapons. Good to know. There is plenty of footage of them being put up in the faces of women who are there to either protect women who are speaking or to hear them speak.

I have also seen some protestors with flags on poles! So I guess all flags are now out unless supported by hand. Ok. That works for me, and I am sure it works for others.

Thanks for the heads up.

IcakethereforeIam · 18/05/2023 09:40

I had a quick Google, assuming that guy was carrying the 'offensive weapon' (and that hasn't been established, unless someone know more) these are the candidates I found

  1. a duster from Lakeland
  2. a classroom pointer from Amazon.

If this chap is the person who's been arrested the Brum Police are just stupid. It has to be someone else. Otherwise everything is an offensive weapon. Feck, even your hands can make fists.

Not RTFT yet but wishing everyone the best with following up with the appalling ‘policing’ in Birmingham and thank you alll for doing it- and please if you can, copy in the local MPs to the event so they understand first hand what women are up against https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/20097/elections_and_voting/1080/members_of_parliament

Femaleandlearning hope you and your daughters are recovering and so sorry they had to go through that. No excuse for intimidation of children ever whatsoever

Members of Parliament | Birmingham City Council

Birmingham is divided into ten parliamentary constituencies, each of which elects one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons.

Hi everyone been a bit busy since Sunday with work and Twitter and drafting complaints.

15 year old daughter is okay. No bruising on her ribs just really tender but good today (Thursday). Emotionally not do good. So frightened when it happened and she keeps replaying the men charging at her. She is tall 5'9 but very slim. The police describing it as a 'push' from another demonstrator has really annoyed her. We were attendening a Free Speech event for women and girls about our sex based rights. She was not a Protestor or Demonstrator. She is more determined than ever to fight this war on women.

Nothing will come of her assault and yes it was assault because there was intent. If you charge forward with such speed and force and use elbows and feet whilst doing this that is intent.

Erection man was speaking to police whilst we waited to report the crime. I couldn't hear what he was saying though and at first I thought he was with the free speech attendees.

Red bandana man was really intimidating he was really tall and just kept staring at individuals really menacing.

Photo below of one of the female Protestors who was in the charge and screamed "you're a fascist" numerous times in my daughters face.

It was a complete mess. The assault happened because the police had made the decision not to police this event. They put the three police there at risk and they put all the attendees at risk. My bodycam says the police came proper at 1331. They should have been there in numbers at 12 noon.

Really annoyed at that distracting tweet by Brum Police about the hurt feelings of a commander who wasn't even there. How dare they talk about this when women and girls were physically and sexually assaulted.
the most senior person I saw was that sergeant who accused DJ Lippy of discriminated based on sex if her male colleague who refused to identify himself.

Your poor DD Flowers The policing was appalling, including their social media after.

Assaulting and traumatising a child.

Utterly unacceptable. And as you say, no equality of justice of any kind.

Do you know if anyone has any photos, or film footage of your daughter's assailant? If so, would you be up for giving it to the Police and complaining, if they fob you off?

The Daily Mail at least would be happy to get their hands on a story like that..

IwantToRetire · 20/05/2023 18:14

Here's the Birmingham World's take on the story.

Virtually the same as the Birmingham Mail, except in the title they do refer to women's rights campaigner Pose Parker - but have put "women's rights" in quotes!!

And judging by the wording in the URL for the article it was originally anti trans posie parker. So after a complaint they must have changed the wording but made it clear they didn't accept the definition by putting it in quotes ....

And the first sentence confirms that they see her as an "anti trans" campaigner.

Kellie Jay Keen, organiser of the anti-trans speeches, has received a temp ban on Youtube for breaching its hate speech policy. One more strike and she's perma-banned.

I've asked most of the stewards and people who were in the same area. Unfortunately it happened too quick and hard people had no chance to start filming. Those with body cams were not in the same spot. My daughter feels so let down by the police.

SinnerBoy · 20/05/2023 23:16

Oh no, that's not good news. Was there more than one other person who saw what happened? Any complaint has a better chance of success, if there are a number of witnesses.

I really feel for both of you.

IwantToRetire · 21/05/2023 00:51

Where has she claimed this? Nothing on her twitter feed.

Is this a true story? The only source of this is Pink News.

Any one got further info from another source (not based on PNews)?

You keep avoiding detrans and desisting posters, man. If you don't have the empathy or understanding to conversate with people whose experiences have been opposite your own (listen to "queer" voices), coming in with a Pink News article like they aren't another homophobic, completely taken newsource just makes you look like a puppet.

Brisland · 21/05/2023 04:11

Perhaps Merlin has some insider knowledge of the most recent mass-reporting organised against KJK’s YouTube channel?

All current videos are apparently still there and able to be accessed, but no new material can be posted by KJK.

As YouTube has supposedly decided that mass-reporting done in bad faith is against guidelines, an appeal may be successful to reinstate posting privileges. Hopefully also people who participated in the organised mass reporting may be sanctioned/banned/etc.

Just a continuation of TRA tactics of #NoDebate. Interested to see how this unfolds…
