Where did PIE go? WHO and UNESCO new guidance has routes in Queer Theory, Sex Positivity and believes children are "sexual from birth"

We have published a very alarming review of new guidelines.

In short, we are really alarmed by what we see coming out of both UNESCO and WHO.

Tanya Carter Safe Schools Alliance said “This alarming, but sadly unsurprising, research sets out how long-established child safeguarding principles are being effectively dismantled. This leaves all children at risk. Adults, professionally charged with the protection of children, have failed in their duty to identify this and this abdication of responsibility has left generations of children at risk of harm. Children are being left to navigate a minefield of predatory behaviour online without either protection or guidance. Those who have allowed this to happen must be identified and held to account by the global community.”

Here is the rest of the Press Release

SSA has just published an independent review of two standards documents produced by UNESCO and the WHO. These standards underpin the global initiative for Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), currently promoted by UNESCO’s ‘Foundation for Life and Love Campaign.’

SSAUK believes that these Standards demonstrate how UNESCO and WHO have been compromised and are working to undermine standard child safeguarding principles.

The review reveals the extent to which the WHO and UNESCO’s standards are ideologically aligned with Queer Theory and with a ‘sex positive’ approach to Sexuality (not Sex) Education.

Queer Theory challenges boundaries that are put in place to preserve “so-called ‘oppressive’ ideas” such as the importance of child safeguarding. The UNESCO and WHO documents and guidelines do the same, stating that children are ‘sexual from birth,’ and accordingly require sexual knowledge to fulfil their right to sexual pleasure.

'Sex positivity’ is central to Queer Theory. This review finds that the WHO and UNESCO standards use the concept of sex positivity to reframe safeguarding barriers such as the age of consent as an “injustice”, and to advocate for children’s engagement in sexual activity with their peers, parents and other adults.

Both organisations appear to have abandoned a safeguarding first approach, explaining this shift as necessary to enable a ‘positive’ approach to sex and sexuality. The issue of grooming is conspicuously absent in both sets of standards, and sexual abuse is referenced primarily as justification for providing comprehensive sexuality education from birth.

It is clear that parents who do not acquiesce are viewed as a threat. UNESCO’s ‘key concepts’ promotes the idea that children’s values may differ from their parents’ and, to undermine parents’ legitimate concerns about the contents of Sexuality Education, these concerns are minimised by the UN as “misconceptions.”

But you end up sounding like a conspiracy nut to those that are oblivious that it's not just about be kind to the poor vulnerable man who thinks he's a woman. That it's all carefully orchestrated insidious mission creep and has a much darker underbelly.

I know. Sometimes I remind myself of a mate of mine who's a Jordan Peterson fanboy: "But, just read this article..."! 😀

"Children's bodily autonomy."

Does that mean I should let my 3 year old decide whether to have the MMR vaccine? No, because that's ridiculous. She has no idea of the risks or benefits.

One of (not the only, one of) the problems that led to the grooming gangs scandal was the idea that children could consent to sex. Social workers were saying that these girls were making choices.

DirtyDuchess · 01/05/2023 15:50

Can someone post that video on Feminism chat and perhaps ask if they think this could ever happen again. I’m totally useless but this needs to be widespread.

Apologies for being pedantic, but it's Safe Schools Alliance - Safer Schools is another organisation whose similar name caused confusion on another thread: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/safer-schools-issues-guidance-on-furries-in-school

(Although to be fair, the typo "ferries" instead of "furries" in the thread's title also caused confusion and hilarity before it was fixed!)

Games with language is gaslighting. So someone now says CSE and it's ambiguous making it harder for people to get information across.

As with the safe schools alliance/safer schools.

Didn't a trans person take a feminists name?

Even companies like jigsaw who teach PSHE have chosen a confusing name as it's associated with autism.

People won't define terms.

People change the names of words.

It makes it so we cannot easily discuss and challenge. It's a way to stop debate. It's a way to suppress dissent

PurpleBugz · 02/05/2023 09:25

Also to add. As a neurodiverse person I find keeping it all straight in my head very challenging. Things like names in these boards I can never remember who is who in the regular posters in the way I see other people clearly can. This is a challenge for me in everyday life and I'm used to it. That's why I notice it so much when I try to talk about gender and safeguarding. It's much much worse in these areas.

And it's well known nurodivergent kids are prime targets. Obviously not all have the same processing struggles I have but an awful lot of them will.

And final point TW. Is also short for trigger warning. I found it amusing at first in my head as what I'm reading about trans women often would get a trigger warning in the other groups I'm in. Then it occurred to me if just scrolling and spotting TW as a sensitive person means you don't read it this is another way people are actively turning from important information due to misunderstanding in language

BlessedKali · 02/05/2023 15:06

Well we are facing another assualt by PIE, it is evident. They have obviously realised that the public is not on their side, so they are trying to infiltrate and change policy to spread the 'child sexualisation' message, without the backlash.

Its round 2, Ladies, and let's push them back where they belong. Rembember the majority of people are against this.

This report needs to get out there as quickly as possible before any more of this policy corruption/social engineering can take place.

We need to organise!

We need to share this report with:

MPs

Local Schools
Local groups that work with children

Organisations that work with children
Journalists

We need to bang these pans hard and make as many people take a look at this as we can!

The majority of people are sane, and know this is wrong, that is absolutely on our side.

So let's not go quietly!!

Any links to groups that will organise against this, or any other ideas?

DysonSpheres · 02/05/2023 15:13

warning triggering

Thank you SSA and everyone involved in highlighting this. God bless you.

This was extremely upsetting, having experienced CSA. It was distressing to read. I feel sorry for anyone who had to write it.

When I was an adult and confronted my abuser his words were: you knew what you were doing. You were not innocent. You used to try and turn me on with your see through clothes (normal children's wear) etc etc

I had repeated therapy. I needed to hear another intelligent person reassure me that his words weren't true. That's how much he got in my head, that my own rationality was compromised.

Reading this sick document, essentially this effectively serves to gag the child being abused.

Now the abuser can tell a child that perfectly normal everyday interactions and normal physical affection on the part of the child like hugs or holding hands are a facilitation and invitation to sex. Normal interest in a changing and developing body is a desire for sexual intrusion by an adult.
In my day another trusted & normal adult could refute this. Now this would be legitimised by schools and health professionals. Now a child suffering secretly would possibly be hearing this in school as well as by their abuser. My (They all have the same script it's how they manage to do it) abusers words. Legitimised by authority.

Why would the child report it? Ever?

I actually can't think of why we would be a society worth preserving if we permitted this.

BlessedKali · 02/05/2023 15:20

There needs to be an offical statemnt condemning this, co-signed by as many childrens organisations as possible.

Boiledbeetle · 02/05/2023 17:44

Datun · 02/05/2023 16:55

The NSPCC changed their campaign wording to suggest it's only abuse if a child was worried or frightened.

There's a thread about it here.

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/3611569-Is-NSPCC-school-guidance-for-kids-re-sexual-abuse-shifting-the-Overton-Window-Need-expert-advise-to-break-this-down

I don't know what the upshot was, though and whether they changed it back.

Completely missing the point that most people who sexually abuse children go to great lengths to ensure the child is not worried, not frightened, feels like what is happening is for their benefit, that they want to take part etc etc and then feel complicit in what is happening to them.

It beggars belief that the NSPCC of all people would forget this.

Why do these unelected, unaccountable global bodies get any say at all in what is taught in our schools!?

In Brighton it’s through the observable support and sponsorship of the local Green and Labour politicians.

One example is Allsorts Youth Group, mentioned by SSA. Allsorts base key definitions and principles for their Trans Inclusion Toolkit and most of their published content the city uses on WHO and UN references. This is an explicit choice at the expense of scientific or standard English we expect in UK schools. They’re moving the language away from the use that supports simple clarity, the effect being to dilute the boundaries that restrict undesirable behaviour by adults. Within local schools some BHCC employees make use of this language and guidance. Allsorts has a monopoly across the City’s schools, social and health services. All local educational, social and health services for children are directly or indirectly connected to Allsorts, Gendered Intelligence, Mermaids and Stonewall.

None of this locally can be credited to national govt policy. There are no current or historical UK govt education, health of safeguarding policies mandating the monopoly this organisation and its expertise has locally.

Some easy to see examples.

Update on a couple of the Grand Perverts of Sexology and Transgenderism: Alfred Kinsey and John Money.

I thought about making a new thread but this history is relevant to how we got to where we are now - and where things might be heading.

ALFRED KINSEY

Indiana lawmakers back defunding Kinsey sex institute
February 22, 2023

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Republican lawmakers voted Wednesday to prohibit Indiana University from using any state money to support its sexual research institution after a far-right legislator unleashed disputed allegations of child exploitation by its founder and famed mid-20th century researcher Alfred Kinsey.

The Indiana House voted 53-34 to block state funding toward the Kinsey Institute that has long faced criticism from conservatives for its ongoing research and the legacy of Kinsey’s work that they blame for contributing to liberalized sexual morals, including more acceptance of homosexuality and pornography.

Alfred Kinsey, who died in 1956, produced groundbreaking sex-behavior studies in 1948 and 1953 and was portrayed by Liam Neeson in the 2004 film “Kinsey.”

Republican Rep. Lorissa Sweet claimed that some of Kinsey’s research was child exploitation as she argued for an amendment to the state budget bill against funding for the institute.

“By limiting the funding to Kinsey Institute through Indiana University’s tax dollars, we can be assured that we are not funding ongoing research committed by crimes.” Sweet said.

Democratic Rep. Matt Pierce, whose Bloomington district includes the university campus, responded that Sweet’s claims were “based on old unproven allegations of conspiracies that did not exist,” calling them “warmed-over internet memes that keep coming back.”

Pierce said the university maintained a department that ensured all research involving humans met federal laws and that the Kinsey Institute aimed to better understand human sexuality, including how to treat and prevent sexual predators and pedophiles.

An Indiana University spokesman and the institute’s director didn’t immediately comment on the vote.

Seven Republican House members joined all Democrats present in voting against Sweet’s proposal, which specifically prohibits the use of state money for expenses including the institute’s on-campus facilities, research work, utilities, office supplies and maintenance of research photographs or films.
Pierce said the institute’s funding was being exploited as a “culture war” issue and that it would simply create bookkeeping problems for the university to use sources such as outside grant funding or student tuition to support it.
The fate of the Kinsey funding prohibition might not be decided until a final version of the state budget is voted upon by lawmakers in late April.

(The budget was passed at the end of April. This isn't going to make a huge difference to the Kinsey Institute's funding base and is significant politically and culturally).

Lawmakers want to strip public funding from Kinsey Institute
25 Feb 2023

Highlights! (Automatic transcript)

During the house session, state representative Matt Pierce from Bloomington said he's toured the Kinsey Institute and spoken with its researchers. He vigorously defended the legacy of Alfred Kinsey and the work still being done today.

This kind of reminds me of the good old days when people used to stand up and say, "I got a list of 100 Communists in the state department. We better get him out of there in a hurry".

There are no sexual predators and there never have been at the Kinsey Institute because believe me, if they did, somebody would have done something about it. Prosecutors in law enforcement are not going to stand by and let kids be abused. It's not going to happen.

(Middle name: "Gullible")

State House speaker Todd Houston near the end: "mumble, mumble, disappointing" looking anywhere other than at the camera.

Just one example of the many exposes of the Kinsey Institute over the decades that these legislators missed:

'Pedophile ping-pong' permeates sex horror
October 20, 2010

On its website, the Kinsey Institute currently claims, "Kinsey did not hire, collaborate, or persuade people to carry out experiments on children. …"

Past Kinsey researchers, however, including Paul Gebhard, who helped research the Kinsey Reports, have acknowledged on the record that indeed Kinsey worked with and covered for pedophiles.

Kinsey and his colleagues also refused to report to law enforcement the ongoing child molestation while compiling data for Kinsey's 1948 and 1953 books on human sexual behavior, according to Gebhard.

"It was illegal and we knew it was illegal and that’s why a lot of people are furious," said Gebhard in 1998. "They say we should have turned him in instantly … [but] if we had turned him in it would have been the end of our research project."

Gebhard assumed leadership of the Kinsey Institute after Kinsey died in 1956.

Kinsey and his colleagues admit to protecting the identities of at least two pedophiles, an Arizona government employee and a Nazi, because the men were producing data on childhood sexual response that was valuable to their research on prepubescent orgasm.

"The information we got on childhood sexuality came from the observations of nursery school people, parents and pedophiles," Kinsey's co-author Paul Gebhard told the Bloomington, Indiana Herald-Times in 1995.

"Kinsey had contact with all [the pedophiles] that he could find," according to Clarence Tripp, Kinsey's photographer, in an interview with Yorkshire Television for its 1998 documentary, "Kinsey's Paedophiles."

In the 1995 Herald-Times article, Gebhard also acknowledged the Kinsey Institute declined to report its contacts with pedophiles to the police, for fear of jeopardizing its ongoing research.

"There couldn't have been any research if we turned them in. Of course, we knew when we interviewed the pedophiles that they would continue the activity, but we didn't do anything about that."

IU responds after state budget chop for Kinsey
APRIL 28, 2023

Extract 1:

Republicans held resolute even into the waning hours of budget negotiations that the Kinsey Institute of Indiana University wouldn’t get any state funding, much to the chagrin of university leadership.

Extract 2:

. . . a second reading amendment in the House, bars Indiana University from using state monies for the research institution, which studies sex, gender and reproduction. Its founder, Alfred Kinsey, produced ground-breaking research on sexuality, including the Kinsey Scale.

Amendment author Rep. Lorissa Sweet, R-Wabash, called Kinsey a child predator and said the school could still be hiding child predators. According to the New York Times, Kinsey solicited information from a convicted pedophile for the orgasm study.

In an email to faculty and staff, the school reiterated its “unwavering support” for the institute, committing to continue its research. It will conduct a review to ensure the university complies with state law.

According to the school, the vast majority of the Kinsey Institute’s funding comes from grants and private philanthropic support.

“Together, we will ensure that IU and the Kinsey Institute remain globally recognized for excellence in research and scholarship,” the email read.

PAIDIKA: THE JOURNAL OF PAEDOPHILIA - STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The starting point of Paidika is necessarily our consciousness of ourselves as paedophiles. It is our intention to publish an intellectual journal which will examine paedophilia within its cultural context, with emphasis on the humanities, history and social sciences. We shall be speaking, therefore, not only to paedophiles seeking a greater understanding of their identity, but also to members of the academic community open to objective investigations of the phenomenon.

The ground on which we stand is the emergence and evolution of paedophile consciousness and identity in history. We point back to the writings of J. A. Symonds and members of the early German sexual emancipation movement such as Benedict Friedländer and John Henry Mackay, where views of paedophilia as an identity and subculture were proposed. The contemporary development of this consciousness is found in the work of Frits Bernard, Edward Brongersma, Tom O'Carroll, René Schérer and others. We intend to be a forum for the shaping of this consciousness.

But to speak today of paedophilia, which we understand to be consensual intergenerational sexual relationships, is to speak of the politics of oppression. This is the milieu in which we are enmeshed, the fabric of our daily life and struggle. There is no country where there are not proscriptions against even the most innocent consensual paedophile relationships. In the English-speaking countries, in particular, the facts of this politics are worsening, and these countries appear determined to impose their reactionary moral values on other nations. In the United States, for example, prison sentences of a century or more are not uncommon for consensual man/boy relationships, and in the state of Florida the paedophile can receive the death penalty for such relationships. Visual images that are part of a paedophile sensibility are also being assailed: in many places all nude images of minors are legally defined as pornography. Not only are our lives and culture under attack, but proposals are afoot in the United States and Canada to criminalize even discussions of lowering of the age of consent or the reporting of research that does not characterize paedophilia as child abuse.

It is our contention that the oppression of paedophilia is part of the larger repression of sexuality, and that this repression in general represents an irrational expression of authority in government. The oppression of paedophilia is therefore dangerous in a wider sense than simply to paedophiles. We must address the reality of this oppression, and while we do not advocate behaviour that violates these laws, we shall attempt to counter the hysteria with calmness and reason.

We wish then to welcome and invite our readers' participation. Through publication of scholarly studies, thoroughly documented and carefully reasoned, we intend to demonstrate that paedophilia has been, and remains, a legitimate and productive part of the totality of human experience.
http://www.drjudithreisman.com/archives/2010/12/paidika_the_jou.html

This Journal appears to have been published between 1987 and 1995.
https://exitinterview.biz/rarities/paidfull.htm

I have not explored this website but from a glance at the index it appears to be the work of a paedophile apologist although I am happy to be corrected.

What happened after 1995? Did those paedophile academics infiltrate the Editorial Boards of other Journals? The Governing Bodies and Committees of organisations with global influence?

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/05/13/outrage-over-who-advice-on-sexuality-for-infants/

"The WHO guidance also says that children aged four and under should be taught about “enjoyment and pleasure when touching one’s own body, early childhood masturbation”.
These topics are described as the “minimal standards that need to be covered by sexuality education”.
A government spokesperson said: “The UK Government does not recognise this WHO guidance and we don’t agree with its recommendations. We have not distributed or promoted it to schools.
“We offer our own guidance to help schools to teach children and young people about relationships and health.”
However, the WHO guidance, first published in 2010, was cited in a 2017 report commissioned by Welsh ministers entitled “Informing the Future of the Sex and Relationships Curriculum in Wales”.
Legally enforceable in Wales
The report was commissioned to “inform the development of the future Sex and Relationships (SRE) curriculum”, which became legally enforceable in Welsh schools last year, although it did not adopt all of the recommendations in the report conducted by Cardiff University.
Laura Anne Jones MS, shadow minister for education in Wales, said the WHO “needs to rescind the advice immediately”."

And

"Tanya Carter, a spokeswoman for Safe Schools Alliance, who campaign for child safety, has demanded an “urgent enquiry” into whether there is a link between “RSE curriculum in this country” and sexual education guidance issued by UN organisations such as the WHO and UNESCO.
“An urgent inquiry is needed into how this ideology… has come to influence so much public thinking,” Ms Carter added.
A WHO spokesman told The Telegraph the organisation it stands by its guidance and it remains accessible.
The spokesman added: “Our guidelines reflect established psychological facts about children’s understanding of their bodies and psychosocial development based on decades of research.”
The document asserts that children embark on sexual education from birth.
It reads: “From birth, babies learn the value and pleasure of bodily contact, warmth and intimacy. Soon after that, they learn what is ‘clean’ and what is ‘dirty’.”
It then goes on to conclude: “In other words, they are engaging in sexuality education.”"
Ms Jones also called for the Welsh government to “distance themselves” from the “frankly disturbing” WHO guidance.
She added: “We must stop this pushing of harmful gender ideology into sex education in Wales and the UK, with immediate effect. The WHO needs to rescind the advice immediately.”
A Welsh government spokesperson said it did not “endorse” the WHO guidance, adding: “What is taught in schools is set out clearly in the RSE Code. The code gives very clear direction to schools so that children only learn about things that are appropriate for their age and development.
“At a younger age children will be taught about treating each other with kindness and empathy.”

Feminists Against Censorship – Pornography and Censorship-Issues on the Net

(includes video over 1hr long)

Feminists Against Censorship was formed in London in 1989 to give a voice to the many anti-censorship feminists who felt they were being silenced by the anti-porn movement, which purported to represent a desire on the part of all women, and all feminists, to censor pornography. To a large extent we see our role as educational, both in terms of making people aware of the long anti-censorship history in feminism and the varying attitudes women hold.

Feminists Against Censorship recognizes that:
1. Censorship is a dangerous tool that is primarily used to suppress dissent from those who would challenge oppression by society and the state, and particularly victimizes minorities.
2. Censorship is used by those in power as a way to avoid dealing with serious, intractable problems in society that require real, imaginative action, and are not solved by banning words and images.
3. Women must have recourse to free expression in order to explore the truth of our own experience and sexuality that has been forcibly hidden from us for millennia, and the state must no longer be permitted to interfere with this discourse.
4. Censorship can never eliminate evil ideas, and so the best answer to bad speech is more speech.

That entry was submitted by Cherie Matrix, "an active anti-censorship campaigner since her early twenties, Matrix edited the Feminist Against Censorship anthology Tales From the Clit (1996, AK Press. London, Edinburgh, San Francisco). She has become a bit of a celebrity, appearing as England’s „babe” feminist whenever her distinct point of view is needed."

Feminists Against Censorship still exists. There is a Facebook Group and the names of some of the Admins will be familiar, whether as PIE members or trans-activists:

eg. Nettie Pollard: NCCL official and PIE member

In 1993 she wrote an essay called ‘The Small Matter of Children’, which begins by talking of “children’s rights” but then gives the game away by quoting speeches given to American paedophile group NAMBLA, and a book called Betrayal of Youth, which was edited by PIE member Warren Middleton aka John Parratt. It also peddles the lie that child rape can be ‘consensual’, talks of ‘mutual sexual pleasure’ and ‘willing partners’, and advises against reporting child sexual abuse to the authorities. The full essay is reproduced below, but this paragraph will give a good idea of Pollard’s mindset:

Far from being ‘innocent’ and becoming sexual at puberty, as was once the common belief, it is now indisputable that everyone is sexual, even before birth. Erection in males is detected in the womb from 29 weeks; erection in females, of course, is harder to detect. But baby boys are born with erections and girls with genitals swelling and vaginal lubrication. The vagina is responsive sexually from birth in cyclic lubrication. Masters and Johnson found that lubrication resulted from sexual stimulation in baby girls. Clearly, birth contains elements of sexual arousal for babies. Babies often react sexually when being held, or in other moments of physical pleasure. Reaction akin to orgasm has been detected in babies only a few months old, though masturbation and orgasm are rarely detected before the ages of one or two, and not all children masturbate.”

Pollard cites Kinsey’s research on childhood sexuality, which was also cited by PIE when they campaigned for the age of consent to be lowered to 4 years old. It had been discredited long before 1993, and was found to be largely based on the sick diaries of a predatory paedophile named Rex King. (for more on this watch the documentary Kinsey’s Paedophiles)

Another Admin of the FAC FB Group is Roz Kaveney (good job we don't go in for "guilt by association" around here!)

Sadly, you would have to go to Hackney Museum to view to this recording of a 2017 interview:

Roz Kaveney is a British writer, critic, and poet living in Hackney. She is also a founding member of Feminists Against Censorship, a former deputy chair of Liberty and has worked as transgender rights activist.

She was invited to be part of a policy forum during the creation of The Gender Recognition Act (2004) a law which enabled trans people to get their gender identity legally recognised on their birth certificate and other documents for the first time. Kaveney also worked on the Equalities Act (2010).

In this film she discusses her role in shaping the Gender Recognition Act, the issues and the moral questions raised by the process, and why the current legislation is in need of reform.

Roz was also involved with the Gay Liberation Front in 1972 (the T was linked to LGB long before Stonewall was paid to switch priorities):

British writer and cultural critic Roz Kaveney recalls that when she moved to London in 1971 she went to the Gay Liberation Front and “asked them if they were doing anything about what we now call trans stuff. They said they had a small group coordinated by Rachel Pollack, and I went to see her the very same day.”

Pollack and Kaveney belonged to the group that drew up the first trans manifesto, published in the GLF’s newsletter in 1972, entitled Don’t Call Me Mister You Fucking Beast, and which included: “There are many questions we are just beginning to examine. Why is Danny La Rue a West End institution, when we get kicked out of our flats for wearing a skirt? Apparently it’s all right if you’re doing it for money, but perverted if you do it for personal satisfaction.”

Here is Roz's written evidence to the consultation on the Government's Response to the Consultation on reform of the GRA 2004 (at least that is what I think it is, happy to be corrected)

Anyway, Nettie Pollard, this is awful to read and not just because it is all in upper-case:

50th anniversary celebration of first LGBT+ protest in Britain
27 November 2020 - Peter Tatchell Foundation

“In 1970 gay men, lesbians and trans people protested together on Highbury Fields, not just about police abuse of power and unjust laws, but also for liberation, including sexual liberation for everyone – a revolution. Love and liberation.” Nettie Pollard.
