Labour have a huge problem with misogyny in their own ranks. They’ve done nothing about the GMB (or any of the other unions who didn’t have to have their failing exposed by an inquiry but whose outcomes suggest similar endemic sexism).
Despite the very real change that all-women short lists should have made to the party, none of those women have risen to lead the party (and it’s not as though the men are just overflowing with talent), and now the shortlists are no more. Their treatment of Duffield and their actions regarding Mike Hill show that their own values when it comes to respecting women are significantly lacking.
That they even think this is the sort of thing you can tackle with some classes in school is itself telling.
