I'm planning on trying my hand at homemade crumpets.

Wouldn't recommend it. It's a bloody pain in the arse. They stick to the rings, no matter how much you grease them. English muffins on the other hand...

TheBiologyStupid · 25/02/2023 23:43

Gender identity ideology has more holes than a Swiss cheese (and is also crackers, so two-for-one!), but that's entirely unrelated to the cheese-related banter on the KJK thread, which is genuinely appreciative of that excellent comestible.

To be fair I'm not actually a beetle so you never know from the name!

We love you all the same though!

I'll love you more if you provide me with cheese!

SinnerBoy · 25/02/2023 23:50

I've got a bit of Cuddy's Cave left. Unpasteurised! I haven't caught brucellosis.

Yet.

Boiledbeetle · 25/02/2023 23:57

I'll try anything once! Thanks.

Talking of Swiss Cheese:

How Layers of Protection Keep Out Harm
www.repealthegra.org/blog/swiss-cheese

"The Swiss Cheese Model is a model to help us understand and reduce risk. It was developed for computer security but can be used to show the importance of having layers of protections to keep people safe. This is because threats rarely come from one source."

Well worth a read

RedAndBlueStripedGolfingUmbrella · 26/02/2023 01:07

Somebody say cheese?!
,pricks up ears 😁
Seriously though never heard of it as an actual thing on here until now.
From what I can gather from this thread -
Starter off from a Posie thread people started talking about cheese on
Like they do when usually try to turn the conversation to Weetabix
Cheese is a new development but sounds predictable 😁

Melroses · 26/02/2023 01:42

Cheese
Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/02/2023 03:44

Is that... hot?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 26/02/2023 03:48

Sorry you're not part of the cheese fun, Redandbluestriped, I guess you've got FOMO, where F is for fromage.

Waitwhat23 · 26/02/2023 08:15

Or FOMO(W)?

Fromage Outwith Mention of (Weetabix)?

ErrolTheDragon · 26/02/2023 08:43

I guess newer members may not understand the references to weetabix either, or how they relate to various posters having 'LangCleg' in their names.

PARK LIFE

All the cheeses, so many cheeses.

@AutisticLegoLover did you make the crumpets? How did they go? Did you gild them with a fine fromage?

'They'

Waitwhat23 · 26/02/2023 10:12

There once was a person called Red,
Who hated all talk of the Shred(ded wheat)
All discourse of cheese put them quite at their ease,
But hot weetabix filled them with dread.

TinselAngel · 26/02/2023 15:32

Jesus I just came across Melrose's picture of WBH with no warning. Envy (not envy).

OP it started on this thread, which is long, and starts off being about Kellie Jay's police interview but then ends up being about cheese.
www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4747228-kjk-v-the-police-this-friday?page=1

As lactose no-one is accusing KJK of casein the joint, exploiting cash-cows, or asking whey she holds inconvenient views…

(Yes, I'm deeply ashamed of repeating tropes that've plausibly been well and truly milked.)

EmpressaurusOfCats · 26/02/2023 15:44

It was KJK’s monthly Hyde Park meeting today & I heard the TRA protesters were out in force. And pretty Gruyère-some.

Boiledbeetle · 26/02/2023 15:51

I have been entertaining my sister all weekend and have just realised every meal I had this weekend contained cheese!

She thinks i ate to much cheese. She even had the audacity to say i was starting to look like cheese!

I resemble that remark!

Cheese
SinnerBoy · 26/02/2023 15:56

"Too much cheese"? What is this "Too much cheese" of which she speaks?

Boiledbeetle · 26/02/2023 16:00

I have no idea Sinner! I mean yes I'm obviously turning into cheese, but is that a bad thing? (I'm planning in ignoring the whole cheese is bad for you brigade, because obviously that's a lie!)
