Cis vs thabit

Cis is a term that has been imposed on people whose gender is consistent with their birth gender. It's a horrible sounding word and sounds like sissy so it's very inappropriate. Alternatives like birth gender and biological gender are contested and clumsy. So how about using the Arabic word for "consistent" which sounds rather nice: "thabit"?

How come anyone who identifies as a woman is immediately a woman unless if you/we're born female, then we can't be called women but need a prefix.

Stop offending me with those prefixes. You probably wouldn't call a transwoman a man so stop prefixing my gender. It is very offensive.

Firstly I would say ‘sex’ for the male or female humans everyone is born to be. I think you are calling sex ‘gender’ as a euphemism for sex. This became popular in America where they are worried ‘sex’ might sound rude.

Sex relates to the biological state, but gender to the generally expected social expression associated with the two sexes.

Then, I would still object to any word that seeks to see my natural state of being a woman as being a point of comparison with a man who thinks or says he is a woman. I have never felt I have had a specific gender.

Let a man who wants to be a woman call himself a non-cis man, or a non-thabit man, or simply a non-gender conforming man.

I will accept man or woman (depending on the actual biological sex of the individual which is all that counts).

I think you will find many people object hugely to "cis" but it is difficult to assess how many due to the fear of threats and bullying if you raise your voice. You only have to read threads on here to see how much deep distress this term causes, often by women who are afraid to say so.

Many many woman will speak out and object, but I am sure that there are at least 9 other offeded, distressed intimidated women keeping quiet, for every one that objects

personally, the term "cis" disgusts and enrages me to the extent that I have objected to it in situations where I know that I am putting my livelihood at risk - but better that than bumble along to my retirement kowtowing to what I consider to be a concept very similar to nazi race science. I always hoped I would have refused to teach those lies then, and I refuse to teach these lies now. I would lose all respect for myself it I capitulated

The prefix is ONLY required for those to argue that a sub-set of 'woman' is needed, thereby allowing the claim TWAW. No such sub-set exists outside ideological language, leaving 'Cis' redundant.
