Gripping stuff. Unfortunately I've missed the 1st 30 minutes, and I'm hoping I can catch up.

This link should work;

Yes!! I'm very much hoping it's going to be available later.

Hannah Bardell seems very very angry.

Thelnebriati · 17/01/2023 14:42

I might have to turn this into a drinking game and have a cup of tea for every claim of Most Vulnerable.

ArabellaScott · 17/01/2023 14:42

Alister Jack is remarkably calm and poised. Which shows some other members in sharp relief.

'we need to take the heat out of this debate'
'what we're dealing with is a reduction in safeguarding for women and children'

I’m not watching but thanks for these lines

Good to hear

ArabellaScott · 17/01/2023 14:44

I look forward to the 'statement of reasons' being published.

You’ll wear the carpet to the bathroom out 😊

ArabellaScott · 17/01/2023 14:45

They're ALL using the issue as a political football. The SNP will have been rehearsing these arguments for months, if not years.

They're not terribly convincing, though.

Walrussy · 17/01/2023 14:45

I managed 30 seconds but Beardy Bro made me too annoyed.

SinnerBoy · 17/01/2023 14:46

"My trans brothers and sisters will be horrified, terrified!"

Please! Get a grip!

ArabellaScott · 17/01/2023 14:47

Kirsty Blackman. Grips persistently elude her.

PaterPower · 17/01/2023 14:48

Just switched it on. SNP politician just parroted the “most vulnerable” BS.

I’d hoped someone like Christine Jardine (Lib Dem) would be better informed. As the “mother of a 15 year old daughter,” hearing HER spouting “most vulnerable” is… disappointing.

“Using trans people as a political football” - Nadia Whittome, Labour (female) MP.

Liz Saville (Labour), Kirsty Blackman (SNP), Deirdre Brock (SNP) - more female politicians saying the same.

So disheartening to see so many women prepared to throw others of their sex under the bus on behalf of men.

I’m sure Alister Jack and I would disagree on many policy issues, but it’s good to hear him standing firm on who it is that are genuinely in need of protection.

PaterPower · 17/01/2023 14:49

“This is beyond Parody” - Alister Jack’s hit the nail on the head there!

OhHolyJesus · 17/01/2023 14:51

So many lies.

The level of disingenuous claims and pure denial is astonishing. I also had to switch off.

WandaWomblesaurus · 17/01/2023 14:54

Why are they insisting that there's no conflict?

Here we go with Section 28 conflation...

xalo · 17/01/2023 14:57

Is it just me or do the majority of SNPs appear (whispers) a bit dim?

Shelefttheweb · 17/01/2023 14:58

Hats off to you lot. I just can’t bare to watch them these days.

PaterPower · 17/01/2023 14:58

I think I must have heard “most vulnerable” out of almost every opposition MP who’s spoken so far.

The only one who didn’t use that somewhere in his question was the Alliance MP, but only because he was focused on a narrow legal point about Southern Irish GRCs.

Empowermenomore · 17/01/2023 14:59

So annoyed at how much worry about women and girls can the MPs take. None!

ResisterRex · 17/01/2023 15:01

The clips of Loughton and Jenkin are worth checking out. As are those of Karin Smyth (though not 100% sure of her all round message) and the ever determined Rosie Duffield.

Sausagenbacon · 17/01/2023 15:23

Apparently Rosie Duffield was very impressive but unfortunately I missed that bit.
I saw Jess Phillips and Dawn Butler. I wonder if they added anything useful (I doubt it)

Stephen Flynn's a pompous arse, isn't he?
