Looking for guidance on when single sex spaces can be offered. Irrespective of a GRC.

Recent JR confirms a GRC has sex changed for all purposes, including under EA.

However Scottish gov claims this doesn't apply to certain single sex spaces.

They should highlight in which instances this applies.

A constituent is a disabled female who wishes female carer. How can she maintain her dignity? Public deserve clarity.

Examples? Current providers don't have this info. Legislation is never written in a language most can understand without lawyers. Language in plain English.

Cab Sec insists guidance is clear. This is obviously not the case.

We need clear guidance we can trust is lawful. Should be comprehensive. Ambiguity must be removed.

Ffs, the example for single sex exceptions in the EA is perfectly clear. (As is the fact sports do not have to be mixed sex).

What about the male currently taking a role in ERC that was intended for a women? He is not uncertain about breaking down the exceptions , however uncertain that group is about applying it..

Jeremy Balfour is one of my MSPs (he's one of the South Scotland "extras"). He said he's had a lot of emails etc from women who are concerned about it. I've been very pleased with his contributions over the past two days.

He's been great. He's just quoted a charge nurse who has emailed after watching the debate - asking what she should do if an obviously male bank nurse shows up as a female nurse when she has female patients who have requested female only care
